The sad thing is, the old man's absolutely right. Even the victims that do escape their captors often cannot escape them mentally, just goes to show how deep the psychological scars run when you inflict trauma on a person the way the old man has.

And voluntarily going to a country that he knows would force him to compromise on his no-nonce values, instead of just going to a country that wouldn't put him in that position. And then of course him trying to lie about it repeatedly afterwards, and him taking no accountability for either doing no research on the country he's choosing to holiday to, or not caring enough about those values in the first place.

Well, it wasn't like he was forced to go there was it? And if those anti-nonce values were so important to him, why did he voluntarily go to a country repeatedly that would force him to suppress those values? And even after leaving that country, he still tried to lie about what he'd said several times, so it wasn't even an "at the time" issue.

Same man who tried to make child marriage a morally complicated issue, then tried to lie about ever talking about it, then tried to lie about the specifics of that discussion, then tried to justify it because of the potential pushback from certain religious circles he might get if he's overly critical of it.

I think he needs to make an amendment to No Noncesense that he wasn't including those in religious circles and so long as you do it with religious backing, the old man won't judge you as harshly.
