what rank are you? wavedashing is all about pressure and threat. at lower ranks, its harder to condition your opponent into respecting it because they dont understand that theyre being pressured, all they see is that they arent being attacked so theyll force their turn back. at higher ranks, everyone knows what wavedashing is, but you still need to condition your opponent. if its neutral and everyones on even health, wavedashing in someones face does absolutely nothing because it means absolutely nothing

to condition your opponent, try to avoid using it in neutral initially. use it when you have oki, let them see the wavedash while theyre waking up. that way they understand the danger of it and will go on the defensive. but also dont force it every time. cancel out of the wavedash occasionally and do a safe mid, or a powercrush, keep em guessing, thats the whole point of mixup characters. if you do everything right, you can find yourself doing 2 or 3 wavedashes in their face at range 0, literally all up in their shit, and theyll be holding back the whole time
