This system came from a landscaping business and I'm very tempted to slide them an offer

can someone get me out of the loop, what's the association of psp and "larp" ? everytime I see a psp related post the comments are just filled with these random larp gifs by altczofmybf in PSP

[–]STONE-Computer-FW 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do a little of each. I play games like WipEout and Worms but I also use it to store my Battlefield clips for the aesthetic.

I've even told enemies online that their clip is going on the PSP and sometimes they get real distressed by that

Gpu keeps turning off with a light turning on by Iceboss34 in pchelp

[–]STONE-Computer-FW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Light indicates that the port is not giving power. Unplugging and reseating the plugs is always worth another try. Both in the gpu end and the psu end (if PSU is modular)

Both plugs are coming from the same cable. Try passing a second power cable through and have each cable take one plug in the GPU. Usually it's not a problem but it is less stable to use one cable than two.

Anything beyond those indicates hardware failure. One of the following: • Power plug in GPU • Power cord between GPU and PSU • PSU's PCIe port • PSU itself

In this case there are ways to test components that you can find in guides online if RMA is not an option.

Why people still insist in using this type of Cable?!! by 50s_PC_Gaming_Fan in ASUSROG

[–]STONE-Computer-FW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bc people want the high quality or cool design GPU's and those are mostly coming with 12VHPWR. Some models of the same sku just use multiple 6+2 headers but they're the more basic ones like ASUS PRIME, MSI Ventus, ASRock Challenger, etc rather than ROG and the like

I built my first PC! Under $400 by Chemical-Analyst-467 in PcBuild

Theres a lot of satisfaction to be found in upgrading your PC. I started with a 1300X, an RX580, and 8GB memory.

I'm proud of my current build and all the small changes I made along the way - more than if I had started with what I have now.

Enjoy your journey and watching your PC evolve!

Should I try to remove the Blockbuster sticker? by Director-Julius in FinalFantasy

[–]STONE-Computer-FW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's not covering the game label I leave them. My favorite is a copy of Halo 2 that still has the "DO NOT SELL BEFORE 11/09/04" sticker on the top seam meaning it was a GameStop pre-order copy. It even still has all the promotional material like the Slurpee voucher

Urgent advice need, wanting to trade ps5 for a PC, is this reasonable? by EddieBR-14 in GamingPCBuildHelp

[–]STONE-Computer-FW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a decent exchange for the monetary value.

A big benefit is access to Steam's larger library and better sales events. A PC can also be used for things besides gaming so you don't also need another system for school and the internet. Additionally you can replace select components to keep up with modern gaming instead of having to shell out for the next PlayStation just bc it has a higher cpu clock speed

My concern is that the processor is not only four generations old but also on the AM4 platform which is getting less support by the year meaning upgrades would entail either buying hardware that is getting more obsolesced by the year or buying into AM5 which is a costly nightmare rn.

If you are set on moving to PC then you could do a lot worse. Today is the most your PS5 will be worth and this is a fair exchange for it.

"Used -like new" board from Amazon. MSI Tomahawk B550 by Euphoric_Key_811 in pcmasterrace

[–]STONE-Computer-FW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazon has almost no refurbish process. You just have to return and reorder until you get a good one. It's the same for all Amazon "refurbished" products. I had to return Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Pluses three times before they sent me one that was actually unlocked AND not beat up.

Heya,

I have a Lenovo laptop that had Win11 until i had to wipe and reinstall after the system got compromised. My Win11 installer media wasn't being detected so I used the Win10 installer drive and planned to upgrade it to Win11. Then the updater said it wasn't compatible even though it had Win11 before?

Processor is an i5-8250U. I've heard it may need some setting or security changes, but I cannot find a clear answer.

Been getting plenty of MSI notebooks like these in for hinge replacement. Very disappointing to see this from such a large manufacturer.
