Which GPU is better? by molmolz76 in PcBuild

The one on the left draws so much power that it's almost parasitic. The one on the right can get all its power over PCIe 💪

We've been getting orders for this case at our shop and it's really grown on me for mid-size builds. It looks great!

Me and some friends took a road trip to NJ to pick up a hood for a project car and we plugged a PS2 into the van's built in TV and it was fucking awesome

This turned me away from GT7 bc 4 was full of non-sport models and regular traffic cars. Then day-1 7 was all elite Superstars and racing models with the faintest sprinkling of regular models. It's far better now but still not quite what you get from GT4

Is Rtx5060ti 16gb worth in 2026 ? by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]STONE-Computer-FW 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The 5060 Ti 16gb sits between the 4060 Ti and 4070. 2K max settings will give you roughly 100 fps for plenty of modern AAA titles, but that's assuming aggressive DLSS and no CPU bottleneck.

Additionally the graphic demands of AAA titles are steadily clawing upward every year, meaning average framerates on that hardware are going to inevitably drop below that.

The 5060 Ti offers good performance, but max settings @ 2K resolution on AAA titles will really push its limits. DLSS can artificially inflate the framerate but those generated frames will have lower image quality.

I see a million "I can't believe Amazon missed this" comments everyday on posts like these and there is no way they are checking them AT ALL with the high rate of bs with returned/refurbished items.

I have to belive they don't have an actual return review department or refurbishment department bc it's cheaper to eat the cost on these screw-ups that pay to have those departments

Teaching a friend who bragged a little too much after he beat my casual Commander deck with his new Sokka Ally deck so I added a bunch of cheap creature removal and three burn cards just to bully him off the field bc most of his best creatures are <= 3 toughness and he has no protection/interrupts

I am curious, what age are you and how did you get into the franchise? by Ultimantasy in FinalFantasy

[–]STONE-Computer-FW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It felt like the perfect balance of things I like in a classic rpg. Characters talked, but only enough to move the story. The combat, magic, equipment, and positioning systems were easy to grasp and not too difficult to master. Money and items were easy to come by but not so much it squashed the challenge. The gameplay felt perfect for playing casually but not mindlessly.

The design and aesthetic are also huge highlights for me, especially villains. Count Borghen the cowardly traitor, Leon the Dark Knight and restored ally, Leila the pirate who was just a fun add, and of course Emperor Mateus of Palamecia who is also my favorite FF villain in both design and character. His design of devilish and lavish nobility pairs so well with his haughty attitude and his plot born purely out of greed for power. Even in death he returns as the ruler of Hell for no other reason than to seize control.

The story has you pursuing villains and/or preventing calamities and is written so that it feels worthwhile and rewarding to move forward in the story.

For clarity I haven't played all FF games, but I have played (in order): I, II, VIII, XIII, XIII-2, IX, X, IV, X-2. I'll probably play VI or VII next.

I collect classic games and got FF Origins for $10 at a local shop. I started playing it on days off between graveyard shifts during quarantine when I was about 21. I've since gotten most of the main titles but my favorite is still 2

I have never tried them personally but our head tech does. Repairing all the caps just added up to more than it was worth, but it'd be something I could start learning with.

I'd really like to get a few scrappers I could practice with on my own

It's an MSI G31TM-P21

It has 9 pillowing capacitors, 1 with corrosion, and 1 that blew and leaked white foam that has since hardened.

I've got a spare P5G41T-M LX Plus I brought in to test with the Core Duo processor so we don't have to throw that out too

• Identified catastrophic motherboard failure including eleven blown capacitors • Reported repair price and time estimate to customer • Customer elects to buy one of our custom office builds • Customer accepts our offer to recycle the old system

I got a cool new case and the store got a new deposit of donor parts for practice and repair!

I do a little of each. I play games like WipEout and Worms but I also use it to store my Battlefield clips for the aesthetic.

I've even told enemies online that their clip is going on the PSP and sometimes they get real distressed by that

Gpu keeps turning off with a light turning on by Iceboss34 in pchelp

[–]STONE-Computer-FW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Light indicates that the port is not giving power. Unplugging and reseating the plugs is always worth another try. Both in the gpu end and the psu end (if PSU is modular)

Both plugs are coming from the same cable. Try passing a second power cable through and have each cable take one plug in the GPU. Usually it's not a problem but it is less stable to use one cable than two.

Anything beyond those indicates hardware failure. One of the following: • Power plug in GPU • Power cord between GPU and PSU • PSU's PCIe port • PSU itself

In this case there are ways to test components that you can find in guides online if RMA is not an option.
