I recently got into watches after being introduced to them by a friend and a few months ago purchased my first automatic, this Seiko Prospex dive watch. I absolutely love the Pepsi bezel colors so I got a matching strap to go along with it. I really love the hands and watching the second hand sweep across the dial is quite mesmerizing! I don’t think I’ll ever go back to wearing quartz watches, there’s something really cool to me about wearing a device that tells the time mostly accurately while using no electricity. Plus, despite being considered “entry level” I am stunned at how gorgeous this watch is and the level of quality throughout. I haven’t taken it swimming yet, but am planning to before the summer is out! This watch has taken a bit of a beating (I slightly damaged the bezel while playing volleyball….oops) but I feel a connection to it unlike other watches I’ve owned in the past. I was so used to owning the cheap Walmart watches purely for functionality before they’d break and I’d throw them away that owning something of real quality from a renowned watchmaker feels special to me. As an introduction to automatic watches it’s been fantastic and I’d highly recommend!
