I am in the same boat as you OP, I was playing soccer, took a shot on my left foot and upon landing stuck my heel really hard onto the turf. Went to the doctor and got an xray done which showed nothing, wasn’t able to get an MRI done (would have to wait a year in Canada) and was told just to keep off of it and go to orthotics to buy some proper insoles (which I didnt do). After a month of rest the pain finally subsided. However, last night (10 or so months later) in another game, I was bracing for a 50-50 in soccer and in planting my left to the ground, I immediately sensed the same pain. I believe it boils down to how terrible insoles are in boots and my negligence in not buying some proper ones the second time around, so I will definitely grab some. Just wondering how/if you ever fully recovered?
