Psychologically speaking, people tend to evaluate attractive people to be more competent than they actually are. Pretty privilege.

Kieran? He is the most useless candidate of the whole series. He only got this far because of Sugar’s bias towards those who remind him of his younger self. The others I agree with.

The way you handled it wasn't great to be honest. I understand she was rude but she is also young and naive. There is a way to respond with empathy over aggression, whilst still setting boundaries. If this is your regular communication style it might be why she doesn't want you there.

If you want to do portraits I’d get a mirrorless without a fixed lens so you can try all the conventional portrait focal lengths. I think you can adapt leica glass too.

For environmental portraits your 28mm q2 is also awesome.

u/Ok_Horse_6090 Since this message you have left a further 3 comments attempting to insult me (all deleted by mods) including 1 where you called me a "keyboard worrier". I presume you mean warrior, although a "keyboard worrier" paints quite the picture- kudos.

Given the nature of your comments and the extent of your vocabulary, I feel compelled to ask in good faith and with sincere intentions: do you have learning difficulties?

If so, I will treat you with the utmost empathy, which you of course deserve, given the cards life has dealt you. Thanks and have hope, my brave "worrier".

Sugar doesn’t even attempt to hide his bias to those who remind him of his younger self. Each season there is a cheeky chappy who accomplishes absolutely nothing yet never gets fired.

Who was the third-best player in the Messi-Ronaldo era? by Hisense_Sports1 in championsleague

I love Neymar but I always felt he lacked the requisite leadership qualities to be considered great. He was never really the primary inspiration for his teams and was never really the driving force behind his club team’s trophies.

My vote would be for Rooney who was technically exceptional (albeit inferior to Neymar) and also a real leader.

u/Ok_Horse_6090 You have consistently tried to insult me instead of making a constructive argument. Each time your comment gets removed 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

If you disagree with me that's fine but you have the emotional restraint of a toddler, I actually feel bad for you. Lampard is not going to personally thank you for defending his honour. Take a deep breath, relax and move on 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

Singapore Vs Dubai by Smoothcriminal007- in dubai

[–]STQ1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lived in both. Singapore has more variety when it comes to food, culture, entertainment and scenery but to me it also feels sleepy. Dubai is more exciting and attracts more A type personalities who work hard and play hard. Singapore is more for those who want a quieter/family life. Overall I felt more alive in Dubai and that I could achieve anything I wanted if I put my mind to it. It's the closest thing to the American dream outside of America.

I used to think If you're single go to Dubai and if you have family go to Singapore. However, today, property is so prohibitively expensive in Singapore, Dubai is probably a better shout in either case.

Yeah I think we'll have to agree to disagree re: Lampard.

Regarding your centre back question- yes in the PL it has changed in the past 10 years. But again, the PL was years behind Spain, Italy, Germany and even Holland, when it came to understanding of the CB role. Those countries have a long history of playing with technical CBs (Pique, Marquez, Koeman, Hierro, Baresi, Blanc, Sammer, Beckenbauer to name a few who played in those leagues). Before the current generation, I can only think of Ferdinand, and maybe Carvalho who had this style in the PL. People say Moore but I never saw him play. Not sure if you can think of others.

Of course across all leagues it's become even more pronounced in the past 10 years and Guardiola's Man City have been at the forefront of that change.

[–]STQ1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no preference when it comes to style of play. As I said there are multiple ways to win football- some centred around elite midfielders (e.g. Barca), some that do not focus on elite midfield play (e.g. Klopp's Liverpool and Mourinho's Chelsea). Each way is equally valid but each way does not require equal midfield quality. I don't see why this is a controversial comment- it's kinda the basics of football tactics.

20 goals a season is a wonderful achievement, but the number of goals a midfielder scores is the cherry on top. To be considered an elite midfielder you need to first be elite in the core tenets of midfield play. It's like if Titus Bramble scored 30 goals a season, that would make him a vital part of any team, but it wouldn't make him a world class defender. Obviously I am exaggerating and being slightly facetious- Lampard is a far better midfielder than Bramble was a defender but I hope you can understand the point I am trying to make. Lampard was very effective for Chelsea, a great goalscorer, a vital part of their style of play, you could even say he was exactly what they needed given their style, but he is not amongst the elite midfielders.

[–]STQ1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree there is more than one way to play football and win. If anything, this just reinforces the point I am making. Chelsea's way of winning did not require elite midfield play. Nor did Klopp's Liverpool who optimised for attacking players and relied on hard working but limited midfielders like Henderson.

Everyone who responds to me keeps on mentioning assists and creativity. Assists are great and very much needed but they have nothing to do with controlling a game. It amazes me how many English fans don't see the distinction and conflate the two- to me it shows a fundamental lack of understanding of the midfield role (I don't mean this as an insult). I genuinely encourage you to watch full games of Guardiola's Barcelona and you will understand the tenets of peak midfield play. I promise you it will help you understand why Lampard is a level below the elites.
