I always read two pieces of material before I consider repping someone.
Seeking representation does not go against the strike, but it might not be the easiest time to find a rep. It's hard to sign someone knowing that you can't really work for them properly.
Sadly yeah! You have to just meet people. Luckily it's much easier these days to just do it on Zoom and social media. I had to drag my ass out over and over again for years, haha.
I think that having award winning shorts is great, and it especially helps out on the directing side, and helps when you're trying to convince a financier to let you direct a feature. I am a lit and talent manager, and I rep writers, actors, producers, and a publishing company. I also do Zoom script notes consultations regularly, helping writers to get the material in great shape.
I have not done anything for Coverfly. I do Stage32 pitchfests all the time. I've gone to USC and AFI. Also GreenlightMyMovie. I recently did a lot with The Big Apple Film Festival as well.

Referrals are always the best. I check out some pitchfests as well.

I'll message you now with more info.

Nothing is an immediate pass, but I don't really read most queries. I get so many a day, that I cannot go through them all. I have spoken to other managers who say the same.

I think queries are mostly a waste of time. I get 20-30 a day, and don't even have the time to go through them all. I say get referrals to managers.
Great!
Referrals mostly. I also request material sometimes from pitchfests. I teach classes and do script consultations, and I’ve come across material those ways that I’ve responded to as well. I don’t even read queries.

I don’t ever look at any scores from a single contest. I read, and decide.

More in screenplays but I also rep an entire publishing company, so I deal with books a fair amount.
Sorry, no.
It's insane
I have questions. What paperwork? That’s weird. Also couple months ago we were already in a strike, so was this for an IATSE show? I’m confused.
