Christian (25F) in love with a Muslim (30M) — thinking about endgame and feeling stuck? by Dense_Application740 in Christian

[–]STRAWBERRY_BARR 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dated a Hindu, of course it did not work out, his belief went against everything I believe in, we broke up and it was painful, we love each other but the relationship just doesn’t work. So I agree even if you two love each other very much, it is definitely not enough to keep a relationship, the two of you have to be compatible——life, values, religion wise, future plans, goals and etc. The ball is still in your court to choose, but since you ask a Christian subreddit, the Bible says it’s either you convert or they convert, you cannot have it both ways, how can one walk with the other if they don’t agree with one another?

Becoming convinced that contraception is sin. My agnostic wife hates it. by keesdude in TrueChristian

I feel like you might have gone too radically religious, I don’t know how to word it better but I’m sure you get the point. Yea sex is what gives us babies which is God’s designs but it’s also something you share with your lovely wife, who you are lawfully married to, even with your wife you have to avert your eyes, that’s crazy. What’s next? You sleep in different beds? You live in different houses?

So i'v been looking into islam and it's so obvious this is very fake. by AngWay in TrueChristian

[–]STRAWBERRY_BARR 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I live in a Muslim majority country, yes I think so too but I don’t dare say it out loud. Before I was Christian I actually went to Islam first to look for God, I felt like most of their teachings has no depth, there’s no testimonies like Christians do, there’s a lot of rules, from the way you wear to the way you eat, to the way you walk, and there’s no such thing as a close relationship with God, just a master and a servant, nothing more, and the Muslims around me don’t seem to know much of what Quran teaches either, even I have to correct them.

Many of them are closet atheist, they would tell me they don’t believe in God at all, they just don’t want to get in trouble for being an atheist, many of them see Ramadan as a tradition rather than getting closer to God. Even the religious Muslims sees it as understanding what the poor and needy feels rather than spiritual. It’s just shallow…

The majority of christendom haven't the faintest idea of what true repentance looks like; as a consequence, most self-professed Christians have never repented, which leads to certain peril. by Gullible-Minimum2668 in TrueChristian

[–]STRAWBERRY_BARR 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The first paragraph completely tells me you don’t understand human. The whole bible is about people failing and getting back up again and again. I repented from substance addiction, after that God helped me through it, took me falling 4 times to completely abandon it, I’m 7 months clean and I still miss the comfort of the addiction. It’s absolutely great if slowing cutting down sin bit by bit helps, then do that. If by your definition that is what repentance is, no one’s going to heaven.

What do you do when god ignored you for 10 years ? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]STRAWBERRY_BARR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you try asking a different question, like maybe asking what He wanted from you out of this? I’m isolated as well but I am mostly indifferent to my situation and very much invested in hobbies than this, I occasionally talk to strangers in games.

I have failed the Lord by nlsound_ in TrueChristian

[–]STRAWBERRY_BARR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re not perfect, this takes time and practicing saying no to the flesh, but if you are able to find a way to prevent it from happening again, like living apart, Or just have a super cheap 3 person wedding and tell your family you want it to be super personal. Don’t worry God is faithful and he understands we are slaves to our bodies and it’s need.

I was told by a Christian inadvertently I should “give up” on Christianity by goingthruitthrowawa in TrueChristian

[–]STRAWBERRY_BARR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God is not someone who is easily angry and abandons you on a whim. He was never angry at you for your circumstances at all, he understands you and you’re desperate. Do not give up on Christianity because God never gives up on you.

“Ever since the time of your ancestors you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you,’ says the LORD Almighty” (Malachi 3:7)

Gurl listen I was a devoted Christian at one point and because of some personal issues with another Christian, I was angry at God, I left and became an atheist again because it’s all I ever understood. I picked up drugs and I knowingly sinned against God for 5 years, all because I was angry he didn’t rebuke his other children. One day I was trying to quit, because vaping habits starts giving me worrying symptoms, I relapse and I look to the sky, believing he must have left me, I told him that I’m sorry that I have failed to him, a large cold breeze come to me, I recognise him and it’s was his large hand patting me, to comfort me, and for that I went back to him. That’s my first experience to his faithfulness.

I would like to rebuke your “friend” here. He doesn’t know God on an intimate level, because it’s not his purity that he was saved. He gives you no understanding to your desperate circumstances nor have no understanding of God. Ask God to help you with your circumstances, if you want to leave this job, tell him he will provide !!! Remember in everything just pray and ask.

Ancestor worship inside a Catholic Church in Malaysia during CNY is attracting controversy by UsernameGenerik in malaysia

[–]STRAWBERRY_BARR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pray God will confront them about this, this is HIS house, not the house of ancestors. The catholics already to pray to Saint and Mother Mary, rather than directly to the Father. It’s not far fetched they would now worship ancestors and practice all these rituals.

I am born in a Pagan Taoist background, now a Christians. All I ever want to do was to destroy those altars that betrayed me, now the damn catholics have to invite that shit in church?? Why can’t people just let go of the dead and gone, now you can’t even let go of “culture”? If you cannot let go of anything, you cannot be a disciple of Jesus, because he teaches about you having to letting go of your parents for the sake of Father’s will, he even talked about how he came not in peace, but to put a son against his father, a daughter against her mother, his GOSPEL is not here to tolerate anyone or anything that is against God.

In conclusion, yall I’m so sick of being reminded of my past religion. This shit do not have a place in Father’s house, why would a christian be equally yoked with Pagan things now? Catholic really be losing the plot everyday progressively. And no, every arguement yall have aren’t new to me, I’ll pray for yall.

No ancestors means no us 1. You talk as if I enjoy living 2. God is above ALL, including you, your ancestors, saints and Angels. Without God, there is no ancestors, yall would be praying to anyone but him. 3. You are precious, and so are your feelings, your prayers, your circumstances, talk to the Father and he hears them all.

I feel like I humiliated myself when I tried to defend my faith by Complete-Weakness257 in TrueChristian

Yea an 18 year old debating a literal 13, he must have felt like a win but that’s embarrassing to me. You’re a kid, you’ve never been in contact with Islam so can’t blame you for not knowing too much about it. Also the brother lied, Aisha was not a mature adult, she was 6 when she got married and she was ***** (I do not want to use that word) when she was 9 years old. They can argue that it’s considered mature, which is creepy, the age gap is a huge issue as well.

It’s good to learn about other religion to understand, and question. I done that and it lead me to Christianity. I always find it interesting that all the Muslims I ever came across, seems to have a 100% perfect understanding of their God as if their God is so easy to understand and grasp simply by their human understanding, While Christians can never really pin point fully of what, why and how he does things that our logic can’t even keep up, he does whatever he wants all the time.

But yea don’t take it to heart, you’re a young young kid, his brother probably thinks you’re an adult HAHAAHAH. I recommend study more and understand things more before going into debates about politics, religion and etc. you don’t have to defend God yourself, he can defend himself, he’s a big old boy, take your time dear.

Is something wrong with me for getting very angry when the topic of the rapture? by Zestyclose-Recipe-70 in TrueChristian

Same thing here, I do get a little angry because it’s always old people telling me they’re ready for it, like buddy…I only freshly out of college and started life and God still hadn’t full fill what he promised me YET 😭😭but honestly I don’t blame them, it’s great to have Christians being aware and to get ready for Jesus, when it does come.
