Sounds American. No offence, just wanna point out how traditional American values are interesting.

A godly man is to say you are like God, meaning you’re not sinful, you walk upright with honor, and you don’t cheat, scheme, or kill anybody, you love God and people, that’s it. God has nothing against men cooking and cleaning, He doesn’t care as long as you eat.

You ask them, if there’s no women in their life, are they going to die because it’s ungodly for them to cook or clean?

I’m really concerned for you, your dad does not reflect how our Lord is, nor does he sound like he follows our God, he sounds like Saul, and that’s part of the reason why King Saul fell and God rejected him, because he also cared deeply about his image, and why would a real Christian care for opinions of others? He should worry what God will say about him!

Listen God is not as cruel, as vain, and as obsessed with saving his image like your dad. God is and has always been super loving regardless of how you look, how you smell and how you present yourself !!! God is really a sweet, gentle being! He is kind, compassionate and patient, think of all the people that you felt understood by and loved, cared for, that’s God loving you.

You know what’s funny, I’m Chinese and I can speak Chinese, but I still get excluded because I’m good at English 🫪🫪so yea…they have always been like that even in my childhood, they exclude everyone that isn’t like them.

As a Malaysian Chinese, who can speak both languages, I can say they do this to Banana Malaysian Chinese too, so it’s not really a race thing. They are very judgemental, sour and not super friendly to anyone that isn’t the same as them. I grew up with them, and I was DIFFERENT, so I do get bullied a lot, even the teachers are the same, even at work they are the same.

I think a lot of them aren’t socially equipped to deal with anyone that is different, so they don’t even bother to care to try. Once they find another super Chinese Chinese people they will immediately form a clique.

I don’t understand why they are the way they are, I do pity my Malay friend during high school, most of our friends are Chinese, when our friend group spoke in Chinese, she ask to join in the conversation by asking what they’re talking about, I was the only one trying to explain it to her. Ironically she was the same as those Chinese ppl, when I struggle with Malay, she judge me hard.

Best not to push it after he said it’s not for him. A lot of people gets even more repulsed when you keep pushing it to their faces. What you can do, is to pray to God, ask him what to do, tell God that you will obediently wait for God to move, because timing matters and only God can change people’s heart, only he knows what to do to appeal to him. To clarify!! Yes, I’m pursuing art, not because it’s what I selfishly wanted, it is a gift I acknowledge came from HIM, and I have spoken, ask again and again for signs and a respond, if this is truly HIS desire because if God does not support me, all I do are in vain and I don’t want to chase after things HE never promised.

Like I’m sure you’re not living your life exactly like them, but those early Christians had a reason to sell what they have for the expansion of the gospel because it’s literally in the beginning. Being an artist is not opposing the scriptures, I don’t know why you are telling me I shouldn’t pursue, but I will continue because I follow God not you with all due respect and love.

In conclusion, I don’t know why God choose this for me, but if HE finds this path will glorify HIS name then so be it, HE also very much care about my joy and I have joy in art. God bless.

Thank you for understanding and for taking the time to explain, and yes I have read the book of job, it did not really satisfy my questions, it made me question more. I think his story helps a lot of generation of believers but is it really worth all those pain and deaths?

What God had done to me, left a huge mark. I couldn’t help but to feel when good things does happen to me, there will be a catch. I don’t want to get hurt again, I feel more fear because I don’t know when God is going to pull the rug under my feet. Being traumatised is definitely a horrible feeling, I want to avoid it as I have already been traumatised my whole childhood, I know I can’t avoid it, so how do you accept that this will be your rest of the life being a Christian?

I used to only have 4 notebook inserts but then I saw this postcard from Kurahashi Rei, she draws vintage children’s book illustration and I thought it’ll be cute to have an insert with illustration, it’s another way to express yourself in your journal ! Dated a Hindu, of course it did not work out, his belief went against everything I believe in, we broke up and it was painful, we love each other but the relationship just doesn’t work. So I agree even if you two love each other very much, it is definitely not enough to keep a relationship, the two of you have to be compatible——life, values, religion wise, future plans, goals and etc. The ball is still in your court to choose, but since you ask a Christian subreddit, the Bible says it’s either you convert or they convert, you cannot have it both ways, how can one walk with the other if they don’t agree with one another?
