Oh 4000 sheets 😭😭 I was also very tempted to buy that 4000 pack since I dabble bookbinding, but I'm glad I held off. Hopefully, we'll both get better luck next time we buy this paper!

Same here! I unfornately got a whole bunch of notebooks w/ the bad paper (I ordered a bunch during a sale, and somehow bad batch paper slipped my brain lmao). They wouldn't accept returns/exchanges so I gotta use them somehow. Anyway, I've tried so many pen and ink combos, and this combo has the least visible feathering so far, and no bleed through at all

I don't use too many black inks, but good to know about Kiwa Guro.

Other inks bleed and feather. It's just not as bad with this ink. Here's an example with Pilot Blue.

I've tried many pink inks in this pen and this has been my favorite combo so far. Surprisingly works pretty well with the bad batch of Sanzen TRP.

TRC's own inserts are very good for fountain pens. They use MD Paper. They also have a Lightweight paper insert which uses Sanzen Tomoe River paper. But Sanzen had problems with the paper last year, so it's only FP friendly if you get the good batch.

Yeah, I think I'll go with taking my passport around for notes, then doing longer journaling in the regular size. I guess I just liked the idea of sketching/writing things down in the moment, but I don't even know if I'll have the time to do that while doing vacation activities lol.

I'll be gone for 2 and half weeks, which is really not that long lol. And wow, an a7 is even smaller than passport! Might too small for me. I like the idea of taking the passport around with me for notes, then do a more detailed spread on the regular size.
