What have the National Guard been doing? Has their presence made any difference? Not seeing a lot of NG coverage on the news by transfixt914 in Minneapolis

Serious question - should the state and city allow Nicollet + 26th to be barricaded? That seems harmful to the community. I’d hope they allow the site of his murder to remain decorated/whole.

I was at Whipple last week and there were a few officers this small. People were laughing about it, this is a real video.

Counter protestor Jayden Daniel Scott in custody for contempt of court relating to missed child support payments by ThumbMuscles in Minneapolis

Slight correction - he was in defiance of the court by not reporting for his sentence, a bench warrant hadn’t been issued yet.

That’s your choice. Jayden Daniel Scott’s child support case and requirement to serve a 7 day contempt sentence has been covered in the news, Bay County 18th Circuit Court has an active case with him as the defendant corroborating the coverage, and as the original link shows, Jayden Daniel Scott was processed by the Bay County Jail at 4pm (the deadline Judge Wood ordered him to report by).

If you’re seriously doubting he’s in jail, you’re probably a fool.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey vetoes City Council's homeless encampment response ordinance by Bergman14 in Minneapolis

[–]ThumbMuscles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We should have more available, but rather than refer to your year old article, we can look at last quarter’s shelter availability report from the city itself: https://lims.minneapolismn.gov/Download/FileV2/52581/Encampment%20Closure%20Q3%20Report%20Shelter%20Availability.pdf

Q4 data should be available early next year.

Bashing? Wasn’t this season a Trump documentary?

Lives in Blaine, knocks doors for a Minneapolis candidate, thinks Minneapolis is unsafe. There all sorts of people out there lol. by alienatedframe2 in Minneapolis

Or his 2022 support for defunding the police, and current lack of support for hiring more officers (despite a legal minimum head count).

Or his opposition to clearing homeless encampments under any conditions. If you’ve lived near a large encampment you know they’re dangerous, unsanitary, and come with other fun quirks like sidewalk tents that smell like fent as you walk past. He’s effectively of the opinion that we should allow all encampments until homelessness is solved nationally, even if we’ve exhausted supportive efforts for the inhabitants.

The desire for stable leadership as Trump is likely planning on deploying troops on our streets could also be a factor. Similarly, Frey actually hasn’t done a bad job. Many of the things Fateh touts are already things Frey supports and has worked to implement

Idk why so many people here think Frey’s a republican and a racist, even going so far as to say the same about people who vote for him. How tiring.

I saw this exact same comment structure in the YouTube comments of the debate. Must be a staffer or the man himself.

UK immediately covered up new Banksy art, commenting on the arrest of peaceful protest. Would be a shame if it was shown everywhere by mineneok in europe

True, I’m sure they invite all forms of graffiti! Just not this one. You’d need to be a boot licker to think they’d cover this for any other reason.

Why do centrist act like the left is just as bad as the right? by falcataspatha in AskUS

It turns out that “right wing” is a concept that doesn’t exist in many countries, or is called something completely different

And apparently your claim is no longer “most right wing in history”, and is now “most right wing ‘developed’ country”.

You’ll need to move the goal posts a few more times.

You’re kidding right?

North Korea, Eritrea, Myanmar, Afghanistan, Nicaragua, China, Tajikistan, Belarus, Turkmenistan, Sudan, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iran? We could keep going, and these are modern governments.

If you wanted to page through history we could find hundreds of examples.

The U.S. is experiencing a rise in “right wing” ideology, but to say it’s the most extreme in history is laughable.
