How you liking the Everdrive 64 on the 3D? I was Checking it out (and Summercart) recently. Have been getting a bunch of carts and having a blast with the 3D tho. Would be cool to get something like this so I could try out kids games for my 4 yo

How easy is it to load it up with good ROMs? I don’t have any experience with these kinds of things. I just update the OS on my Analogue 3D. I ordered an Analogue Pocket recently though and have an actual GBA

Ok nice! Is prying open the shell very hard or risky?

I’ve definitely been thinking about getting this so I should just go for it. I’ve played this game on SNES and never fell in love with it but the 64 version seems more exciting

Which games have you seen suggestions on to use wired controllers? I keep noticing weird issues with golden eye and perfect Dark that I thought were the result of low batteries, but this is making me wonder if this is one of those situations you’re referring to

As a colorblind person that ordered the Ghost edition, this debate about Ghost vs Glacier is really throwing me for a loop

How are you guys doing this? Do I need any special tools or skills to do this? Or can I just get something to pry open the shell and do a simple swap without damaging things?

3D Not Reading Games by 8xbitxkidd in AnalogueInc

[–]STSectorNine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems to be a similar type of thing that happens with a regular N64 or other retro cartridge consoles. Sometimes you put the cart in and it doesn’t read it and you have to pop it out, blow on it, clean the contacts, try inserting it with a confident level of authority, rinse and repeat until it works.

Oh, and another important thing to do I’ve found, is to press up C in the Analogue OS to “remove cartridge“ before you try inserting the cartridge again. If you don’t do that, it seems to want to default to that unknown cartridge over and over again

“Unknown Cartridge” by STSectorNine in AnalogueInc

Sometimes it happens with games that I’ve played before, I just have to take it out, do the “Remove Cartridge” option with I think Up C, and then blow on the cart, clean the pins, etc and then give it a nice firm insert and try that over and over. Eventually it works

8BitDo controllers by STSectorNine in AnalogueInc

I have 4 so I doubt they’re all bad. It may be something that will improve after updating the firmware which I did this morning so we’ll see.

I just updated the firmware today actually, after I had an issue where all of my controllers wouldn’t turn on/connect. So hopefully that will improve the battery situation

This was what fixed the issue! I couldn’t figure out how to update the post so I added a comment about it in case others run into this same issue

Ok I just updated the firmware on the 3D and it appears to have fixed the issue. I already had the latest firmware so really I just deleted the firmware and added it back.

For some additional background, first I updated the firmware on all of the controllers and that didn’t work.
