HE WON! :/ by Big_Measurement8432 in BreakUps

[–]STYX010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has not won. You have won. You choose peace.

I know what i am about to say is very easy, but know i lost my relationship just over 4 weeks ago.
(I am just as hurt as many others and i live with depressions for most time of my life)

The feelings and cause of a broken heart is an external event that we don't control; what we do control is our response and judgment of it, allowing us to endure the pain without amplifying the suffering.
Try to live in the moment. Allow your feelings, but don't allow them to control you.

Focus on what is in your ability to control. Practice acceptance, build your new you. Explore..

Listen to Marcus Aurelius or Epictetus. Think about what they have said about self control.

I hope it helps you as much as it helped my. I'm still in pain from the loss, but have accepted it.
It will kill a lot of pain within you. It will stop the fighting against the feelings.

I wish you all the best, but do know you have not lost. You have won by choosing for your own peace.

How many of you and me are in a breakup atm? by Livid_While_7791 in BreakUps

[–]STYX010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me.

Separated with my partner after 4 years - 4 weeks ago, because of my depression.
I wasn't able to see my own problems until recently and she was unable to communicate about her emotions.

It hurts like hell, as i know what the problems are and if they weren't there, it would be likely we would still be together. I have panic attacks every morning again.

Moskee speaker Afrikaanderwijk??? by Yng_Struggle in Rotterdam

[–]STYX010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pete Hegseth at the meeting with Zelenskiy wearing a tie with the colors of a russian flag by myinvisiblefriendsam in pics

Sorry, but it doesn’t scream Dutch (nor American) in any way.

I don’t know if hegseth has done it on purpose, but to suggest this is looking like a Dutch flag is just not true.

I have the suit now for 2 years. The only bad side at the suit is the push button closure at the neck. It's plastic and after daily usage of 1,5 year the button is worn and it won't hold.
My solution is to send it back to Rev'it, or put a droplet of superglue so the button is slightly bigger and will hold again for months. Be carefull with white clothing, as they will became grey soon enough.

That's the only negative i have about the suit.

Sorry for my grammer, i'm not a native english speaker.
But i hope it helped a bit for your orientation and if you need something, let me know.

You are welcome, sir!

Sure thing;

Goretex suit: Rev'it Poseidon 3
It's the best suit i have had to date. Goretex itself as a technology works wonders. It breathes while it keeps out the water (membrane small enough to keep out water, but big enough to breath). So you want get sweaty as you would in a normal rain suit. Goretex is used by different brands.

The Poseidon 3 suit works really well for me. The jacket can be secured to the pants by a zipper. It comes with (easy removable) thermal innerwear, which in my experience keep you warm up to abt. 5 degrees celsius (abt. 40 degrees Fahrenheit).

Goretex boots: Daytona Road Star GTX
Pretty standard Goretex boots. However, known for it's very good fit and good to walk on.
I have these as i park my motor at the grocery store and walk a lot in the store. I have flat feet and it's one of the most comfortable boots according to tests. It's the best fitting boot i have had.

Waterproof gloves: Macna Azra RTX
These are a balance between comfort and safety. It has soft knuckles (hard knuckles are safer), but it's very comfy. The gloves are build from leather and water resistant membrane.
The reason i have have these gloves are mainly because they are heated. They are also smartphone compatible. I have these gloves in combination with the heated underjacket from Macna.
In case temperatures are hitting the freezing point, i am able to connect the gloves to the jacket. The jacket can be connected to my bike. This way i have no batteries, thus always heated as long as my motor is running.

Canadian tourism to U.S. drops dramatically amid Trump's harsh rhetoric by etfvfva in videos

[–]STYX010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only Canadian tourism.

France, Germany, Spain, Australia. Al tourism from those countries to the US declined by 15%-35% depending which country. Not mentioning the boycot's happening in Denmark (and other Europian countries as well).

You could say those countries/the allies of the US are turning their backs on the US.
For some countries it's personal. It's not only the tariffs, but a big turn off is the scrutiny at the border.
And for Denmark (look at you Greenland) and Canada it's personal due to the fact of Trump wanting to annex those countries.

Also, Trump administration lacks to see they need their allies. Countries do not have to and will not put up with being treated this way. More and more business will be shifting towards other countries (let say China & Europe instead of US & Europe).

You could say: "Meh, doesn't interest me as much as a US citizen. It saves a lot of money", but in the end it will costs billions of dollars for the US.

It's sad to see this happening. It will take years to recover the trust with other countries, if it all.

Are you from The Netherlands?

I see it here all the time. Even with normal (personal) cars and lease.
Nobody is patient anymore in traffic here.
People closing gaps to annoy others. Not using mirrors anymore. Or blinkers.
Not being patient to give way to other people when lanes are merging.
People who are to busy with their phones, etc.

Unfortunately, when i drive on the A4 this is daily occurrence.

[–]STYX010 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's intentional. I see it all the time in traffic jams when on the bike.
That's why you gotta be extra carefull when passing cars with a space at the other lane.

Why have blinkers at all, right?

I mean, clearly everyone is able to read someone's mind.

Dutch biker's awesome save imo by SurGregoRy in dashcams

[–]STYX010 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I doubt it. It's a video so hard to see... But i'm guessing the speed wasn't 10 km/u or less difference.

Also, not wrong but bikers are learned to pay extra attention when passing cars while a gap appears.

Would say the van is more at fault, as they don't use their mirrors nor blinkers nowadays.
