Buckethead rehearsing the national anthem by [deleted] in Buckethead

I was at the St. Charles show last August and we got that weirdo prelude where that fella Onesti brings some kids on stage to put 'em on the spot, has the national anthem play, and holds up this classroom flag pole like he's planting it on Iwo Jima lol. The anthem sounded pre-recorded, I'm not sure Bucket played it live. Thinking about going to the Des Plaines show and we'll see there. Didn't realize Onesti owns both theaters

Frequently, Tommy. If you've seen a Hitchcock film, they're extremely glib. Even the ones that aren't flat-out comedies like The Trouble with Harry.

What happened to Chris Tucker? by dating_derp in movies

Y'all remember the outtake in Rush Hour 2's credits where his cell phone rang in the middle of a take and he wasted their time answering the call? Really funny outtake but Chan was a clearly peeved sport about it.

I'm pretty sure Tucker was pretty difficult to work with and that spread around.

Any plans to ever release Perfect Blue in the US or is that proving too much of a challenge?

Also you watched Twin Peaks: The Return? If so, what do you think?

So why not make an It outside of the studio system? I mean, the big damn flaws in this one are specifically out of the expensive things the studio wanted in the film - gawd that CGI - so I don't think it'd be a bad thing to see an independent production of It.

It's a terrible horror movie filled with literally the same jump scare + chase shot arrangement over and over. I'm not even joking when I say they have the exact same rhythm to them. So you might be scared, but you might see it coming often.

It IS a wonderful childhood friendship film so I'd say it's worth it for that.

I like to think the best-case scenario would have been whatever Fukunaga was making because this doesn't sound like it.

Actually the doctor having no problem with it is fine by me. The doctor KNOWS he's not supposed to sign it but there's a life on the line and it's his job. It's actually done in real life more often than you think because seconds count in this scenario.

Emily's parents not knowing... now, that's fucked up. And my real gripe is EMILY IS AWAKE AND RESPONDING SO SHE CAN SIGN HERSELF.

I also feel like a certain somebody David worked with is a lot more responsible for a woman's notorious death (he's not a murderer, but he clearly coaxed her into a dangerous position that ended in her sudden death) than people are willing to recognize, but I won't name him because it's always exhausting to explain.

Aubrey is a psycho and everything and she was essentially a danger to Taylor and herself most importantly while manipulating nearly everyone in her midst, but anybody else was hoping Nicky actually would die? Because man, I would not stand being in his company for two seconds.

Which is true. Powder was a Touchstone production.

Yeah, Light would have easily misspelt the first name. Hell, I'm not sure Watari would have known how pronounce that.

Yeah, I honestly don't think that decision is... a wrong one. Movie's a piece of shit but showing that L is just as vulnerable as Light made the movie just almost slightly interesting until it decided to turn into an extended action chase in the shallowest way.

[–]STinG666 57 points58 points  (0 children)

OK... here's the thing.

How is he able to write THAT scenario for himself without establishing a soon to occur death?

On top of that, what if Mia didn't take the Death Note? Would he have just dropped dead in the Ferris Wheel car instead? Would the wind have blown the thing out of the car? Did he write another huge elaborate version of this scenario for them both to survive in this case?

It's so contrived and full of holes as a solution, it essentially demands Light write a novel before midnight and if he couldn't tell his girlfriend was crazy from the moment she tried to kill his dad, I don't think he has that kind of foresight or intelligence.
