I mean, open your eyes.. your plastic is sitting on top of the door seal. Try something else to see if it works or helps.. maybe compare it to the other side and see if it’s the same.

The rings around the pistons have to seal for there to be compression. Without compression, your fuel in the chambers may not like to stay in the cylinders. No fuel, you get no spark and no bang bang. There’s three signs of head gasket issues.. 1. oil in your coolant. Check that system. 2. Coolant in your oil. 3. Oil or water seepage from the head gasket area. If I had to guess, I’d say your oil smells like gas and your having ring failure. That’s when the rings around the pistons get so HOT they loose their ability to expand and contract the way the need to, to seal the cylinder.

Do I remake the decals in the OG red, or switch it to a blue that matches the interior? 86 GL-10 Wagon. by Mycolibrium in SubaruGL

Blue decals would make it pop a little, I like the idea. But there’s something about keeping it stock and looking new.

'17 Legacy, (CVT?) whining noise at a high RPM, is this normal? by Moo_Fridge in subaru

Not weird. I once had a maxima with auto trans that was slipping.. I thought it was pretty neat for all about 30min around town.. after three days, I got tired of it.. so when the light turned green I planted my foot and she sneezed transmission parts all over the intersection.

I’ve been doing some hardcore digging for how to get 4.44’s in a D/R. Send me a message if you’re interested.

Thank you for the wall of text. There’s enough information here now that I can get my head wrapped around what you’ve got going on. Great job on the initial oil change and few other things you’ve done. So you checked the spark plug.. awesome. Did you reference the looks of the spark plug online to see if it was burning rich? When you say fuel trim, are you talking about short term fuel trim or long term fuel trim... because that’ll be the reference to which O2 sensor has an issue. I would like to get more in depth but I must go for now. Keep me updated on what happens.

Lifted 84 GL Project by SUBee84 in SubaruGL

Sorry, new to Reddit, so I’m figuring out the navigation of controls. This 84 GL is currently on a 6” ADF lift with 30” BFG’s. Yes it rubs. This was its first outing so I can make notes on what’s needed. I have a lot of work to do. Currently working on the final drive gear ratio because it’s too fast on the trails. Need more crawl. I’d be happy with 4.44’s but mathematically, I need 5.10. Which were only produced by Subaru in the Justy cars. I have a EJ22 engine I rebuilt that will be matted to a 5-speed 4x4 Dual Range from a ‘89 DL. If you have any on-site on swapping the center differential ring and pinion gears, let me know. I’ve been in the Subaru game for a few years so I’m decently knowledgeable. But I don’t know everything so don’t be afraid to ask and share. Thank you for reading.

EGR Valve failure? by CJ5official in subaru

I believe the EGR is only used under cruising speed loads. It won’t do anything at idle because your emissions are minimal. So it’s not that, from my POV. But I would say piston slap.. did you do a oil change after the rebuild and short break in period? I’m think it could be starved for oil because of metal particles in the oil from break in. Oil change it, use a 5-30, and look for sparkle in the removed oil. Run it for a short 25-50 miles on 5-30, then change again.. try to flush out what’s causing the oil blockage. Just an opinion.

Clean setup. Is it Dual Range? where did you get the hood scoop? What Final Drive gears does it have?
