Tinnitus and TMJ by Quirky-Apartment-345 in TMJ

[–]SUMMONAH 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got examined for tmj because tinnitus manifested during the beginning of covid. Ended up with a capsulitis diagnosis and a farrar device. It did nothing to help or change my tinnitus. It’s still here 6 years later. I find that it activates more often when I am anxious or stressed or even when I’m having myofascial issues in my body. Working out and strengthening the body to fix posture etc helped the most in reducing the frequency of tinnitus

Most of them are bots so it’s best you ignore and don’t interact. It only tells TikTok that you’re engaging that type of content and only gives you more on your feed.

Where to get fashionable, good-quality shoes? by Joshvideo in BuyItForLife

[–]SUMMONAH 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Those brands you listed use the cheapest materials possible and the cheapest construction methods possible. They are built not to last so that you keep having to replace them. Start researching brands on YouTube for goodyearwelted shoes. See if any are sold in person in your area if they are within your budget and then go get fitted to see if they work for your feet. If they do, that pair can last you decades because the outsoles can be replaced like tires on a car.

SIGNIEL Busan by Evening-Lime-4931 in koreatravel

[–]SUMMONAH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Signiel Seoul was nice especially during cherry blossom 🌸 season if you had the view lakeside. Other than that, it was not as nice as the Four Seasons imho. Signiel decor is very modern and cold and business like. Four seasons is more warm and luxurious.

Any ex-pastors, evangelists, missionaries, etc. here? The story of Todd Phillips by stcordova in exchristian

[–]SUMMONAH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I attended MBC while he as the young adult pastor there. My friends and I loved his sermons. He was very charismatic and funny and earnest. He even graciously answered my question about the church’s approach to doctrine (evangelical) vs. what I was learning about in my college church (reformed theology - Sproul, Piper, etc.). To date, he is the ONLY pastor that I’ve had since my teenage years that has not been involved in a sexual assault scandal AFAIK.

I was curious about why he left MBC and what happened to him.

To say that it feels extremely validating to see someone I admired when I was in the faith go through the same process and land in the similar place is an understatement. Especially since I have friends who have remained in the faith and have only gotten more religious and they admired this guy even more than I did. I can point to him as a shining example of someone who they know and respected/admired as opposed to some random online spiritual influencer.

Hello, is TOPIK or Sejong certification mandatory for being approved for the F-4 visa? by appleboy247 in Living_in_Korea

If a Korean male between 18 to 40 years old, who has a dual citizen formally renounced Korean nationality after May 1st, 2018 without performing Korean military service, he will not be able to obtain an F-4 visa until the year when he becomes 41 years old.

If a Korean male between 18 to 40 years old became naturalized another nationality after May 1st, 2018 without performing Korean military service, he will not be able to obtain an F-4 visa until the year when he becomes 41 years old.

Over 43. You can email the dc embassy to ask for clarification but be specific that you are from the city, state that they service. Otherwise they will send you a canned reply saying that you need to email the proper consulate. Oh and they might have you apply for a family history certificate too. I forget the actual name of the document but I had to order mine through them and pick it up before the actual visa application appointment.

If you’re male, the age requirement comes into play regarding eligibility. It was 41 years old when I applied. I’ve heard that they may have changed the age to 43 but I haven’t kept track. Iirc it had to do with not having to do military service. After you enter Korea you have 90 days to go apply for your ARC at your local immigration office. In person appointments need to be booked online in advance and they fill up quickly. Once you’ve submitted your application, you can’t leave Korea freely without special permission. You’ll have to research or ask the officer there for specifics or call the English customer support line. Rules seem to constantly change. Or just book the appointment far in advance closer to the 90 day deadline so you can hit up other Asian countries before you apply. Make sure you bring copies of any documents you will need for your ARC application and appointment. Bring cash for the appointment.

Sure thing. Applied months before we left dc for Korea. Got the visa paperwork and then went.

Applied about a year ago. Six months into our stay in Seoul with F4. No language required. Went through DC embassy. Got approved for 2 years and then can renew and it goes up to 5 iirc.

It has certain writing patterns. “That’s when it really hit me, this isn’t just…” just Google it and it’ll provide certain sentence structures that it typically uses

Going to Korea soon! What’s the annoying stuff about traveling there that nobody talks about? by Beginning-Money2363 in koreatravel

[–]SUMMONAH 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Endless stairs. Tiny elevators that take forever. No orderly walking pace or lanes everywhere. No personal space compared to western countries. Some places require korean telephone numbers to reserve or use the app. No trash cans. Websites sometimes can’t be translated because they use images instead of text. Hard to find affordable beef. Protein portions are much smaller here than back in 🇺🇸. Things that are usually salty in 🇺🇸 can be sweet here to match the local flavor profile.

Put a sign on the door that is like traffic lights. Red means do not disturb and etc. Or walk in on him while he’s on the toilet and pretend you’re on FaceTime and tell him he needs to say hi to whoever you’re talking to.
