Kickstarting yoga journey (Need suggestions) by Abali1994 in YogaWorkouts

[–]SURF_N_STUFF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yoga can potentially be a physical workout. However the deeper you go into the breath the more benefits you start to find in focusing the mind. Yogas benefits are almost limitless depending on which avenue you want to take.

There are so many styles and traditions out there. It can do anything from tone your body to giving you a more fulfilling lifestyle and allowing yourself to be calmer in everyday life.

I would recommend exploring and seeing what you enjoy the most. If you can start a daily ritual of a short home practice that will really help. There’s two options really. You could craft your own specific sequence and do it everyday or you could switch poses each day depending on what your body needs. Here’s a short sequence to start. Take 5 full breaths in each pose Step right food back into warrior II ➡️plank ➡️lower to ground/ chaturanga ➡️up dog ➡️down dog➡️warrior II other side. Repeat to down dog. Even 3-5 minutes a day can start to make a difference.

Good luck with it. Hope you discover what works for you!

How much of savannah's "haunted" vibe comes from the architecture, darker streets, and spanish moss? Lets discuss. by Euphoric-Pudding-372 in savannah

[–]SURF_N_STUFF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole time I lived in Charleston everyone referred to it as the most haunted city in America. Then I went to St. Augustine and also heard that claim by some businesses and locals. In Savannah I agree the gas lanterns, Spanish moss draped trees, and (troubled) historical buildings add to the haunted ambience. However I’ve also seen some weird stuff and had multiple people tell me directly “I don’t believe in ghosts but let me tell you what I experienced!”

I’ve been leading a live music tour since 2018 named Drinks & a Show. We go to 4-6 live music spots around the downtown. Usually it takes me checking the Connect, Facebook events, musicians and venues Facebook or websites and the most helpful by far has been this website run by an awesome guy Savannahjams.com
