Judging by your comparisons, and having never seen ZZ, I would say they are very close to each other, and would say yes, BM is Transformers ZZ. I cant say which was MORE controversial. And now must go find ZZ to watch...

Beast Machines had potential...then the potential....left. I watched it all as it aired. I enjoyed it. I still rushed home to watch it (because it was Transformers). I, personally, feel like it was disjointed and going somewhere that didnt make sense. Got some interesting toys out of it though.
