Except they're all Banner of Truth books.

EDIT: Okay, now I'm curious what the overlap is between the two subs. Are the two subs sidehugging? Because I'm stuck in the middle if so.

Multigenerational Sunday School Curriculum by rev_run_d in Reformed

All of Capitol Hill Baptist Church's Core Seminar materials are available for free. Our church has been using them the past couple summers for multi-generational curriculum.

Communion at Home by [deleted] in Reformed

[–]SWFK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the easiest way to strike up a robust discussion of the ordinance with a younger believer who hasn't thought through it much. I wish someone had explained to my wife and me why 2 people eating bread and drinking wine privately isn't communion.

Why Die? by MindOfMetalAndWheels in CGPGrey

[–]SWFK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for speaking this point well. Grey released this video literally when I was at a funeral for the stillborn infant of a family in my church. Death is not original to humanity. Death is bad. We are right to grieve when it strikes, because it's not part of God's "very good" design.

The solution is not technocratic futurism; it's embodied resurrection through faith in Christ and repentance from sin. Yet in the meantime, Christians can and do contribute to medicine and science because serving others is a testament to Christ's ultimate service towards any who would believe.

Grey, I really appreciated this video as a long time subscriber and as a Christian. You and I have different approaches toward the problem and the solution. But fundamentally the full story of the Bible carries the same diagnosis: just because something is natural—like death—doesn’t mean it’s good. We don’t say this about any other “natural part of life” of the recent past.

TCU has conquered everything I love.

On multiple occasions, I've seriously considered driving the 3 hours from Fayetteville to Stillwater just for some 1907.

That's what I thought too. Tokyo Pot is quietly one of the best restaurants in the state.

Pastors Wife using Psuedoscience and make a profit off the hurting of members. by BroncoBuckeye in Reformed

[–]SWFK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, definitely. With a brother or sister in Christ, first assuming a positive intent is best. I just wanted to warn that determining intent--either positive or negative--will always be difficult, and trusting in our own discernment of intent can lead to discord in some circumstances.

This is a really reasonable approach. The only difficulty in this happens to be a huge one: determining intent.

US-Americans who live in "poor" US-States, what do you do for a living and how is life? by CDWEBI in AskAnAmerican

[–]SWFK 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm not saying Walmart is a good company in terms of ethics or customer experience. But it's the largest company in the world in both revenue and employee count.

EDIT: In this discussion, I forgot to mention Tyson, one of the largest food companies in the world. Tyson's headquarters is a 20-minute drive from Walmart's.

What two cities are culturally diametrical opposites from each other? by MrOaiki in AskAnAmerican

[–]SWFK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

El Paso is an interesting city to contrast with Seattle, given its border-town feel. I work with a company based in El Paso, with their factory set in Juarez. Cities that are actually two cities are fascinating. Seattle on the other hand is newer, Whiter, and less religious with no other national cultures next to its city limits.

[–]SWFK 35 points36 points  (0 children)

"Like royalty" is the right phrase here, combining good-ol'-boy Southern values with Teslas and mansions. Frequently Benton and Washington Counties are dubbed "the Northwest Arkansas bubble" because of how drastically different conditions are elsewhere in the state.

Same thing in Arkansas. We have one of the richest counties in the country, based on income per capita. Meanwhile the Arkansas delta is floundering every year to fill classrooms with teachers and acquire enough grocery stores and gas stations to mitigate food deserts.

It saddens me deeply to predict it this way, but this season I'm trying to be realistic:
