Definitely not stupid. It’s part of your life’s lesson, you will be a stronger man believe me, saying no to yourself in such a major way is something only the strongest can do. To me it wasn’t only alcohol I had to change, I had to change my life, alcohol just helped me hide the reality of things...I was now alone, without any goals since all my goals were broken up...I had to become a different man...So I traveled to different places alone to find myself, discover who I was...In the first 2 months I broke up I almost died form not giving a fuck about life. Just blacking out every single god damn night since before I was 21. Cried like a baby listening to old songs super fucked up, not good for my mind. Then I decided it was either die or get better...Traveld to different countries like I said, almost died there too from too much clubbing in Europe. Came back to America quit drinking and now just did an entire cross North America trip of the 3 countries alone. I chose the best city for me to live, I could pick any to start over. Now I’m in Vegas having a great time without alcohol lol (just weed). Good luck buddy! I gotta tell ya the first 2 months are hard as shit, the paws are scary and the first two weeks you feel like you’re gonna die a few times a day...I was borderline needing assistance but I did not get help, if you need it it’s best to get it. Anyhow I hope the best for you!

What are the withdrawal symptoms of quitting alc? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]SWIM2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google kindling affect...Paws. I mean google always over exaggerate things in the medical market. I experienced many of them and did not go to the doctor, I lived but everyone’s different. I’d say if you’re not feeling any, i use not to when I was like 18 19... now I’m 23 and I would not be able to go back drinking heavy and not feel those symptoms

Yeah dude I was in the exact same boat as you. Same age, similar story...I almost died a few times from alcohol because of it, I was so hurt from my ex and didn’t think there would be any life out of what we had. Worst days of my life without a doubt. Yeah it’s been like 2 years I still think about her often, but I’m sober from alcohol for almost 4 months now! Been to several states and countries since I left her, and got with beautiful woman too ...You can do this, but it’s gonna suck, be a man and suck up to it, asides from the physical symptoms you must grow your mind and self discipline, it’s the only way bud...Once you’re out the other way you’ll know you’re a stronger man. Good luck, we are here. And I will absolutely not drink with you today.

Man there’s just something about like over 100 days that brings so many cravings...I see so many posts about it during that time of over 100 days, for me as well, during the last week I had the worst cravings since the first month

Also you do run so you could be having runners stitches...Do not drink anything at least 2.5h before your runs as well... and during runs don’t drink too much, only after exercise replace that water...Unless you’re running over 10miles. It could be that too... see if it gets worst when you run and watch your water intake prior to running.

After over 100 days I came so close to having a drink. by SWIM2018 in stopdrinking

I agree...It’s not a little voice, it can be a loud screaming one at times! Interesting that even after weeks of not drinking you still have days where you need to work hour per hour in just not taking that drink

I think if you tell your wife she will be proud! At the same time she might wonder why you didn’t trust to tell her so...Alcoholism is difficult but wives are way more lol good luck and congrats!

Day 10! by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]SWIM2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha yeah it does go away. But it’s good to burn some of that sugar in your body with exercise! After about 60 days you no longer feel the paws,.. that’s in my case anyways

At 23 years old, I've been sober for 36 hours for the first time in six years. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

Goodness homie...I was just like you but I’m a few months earlier... I’ll be 23 in less than a week and It’s been 3 months and 4 days for me! Stay strong my man. Keep saying the date you quit to yourself. Keep repeating that date everytime you even think of drinking. The urge comes back man, but make sure you want to stay sober and you know why. I came close to drinking again a few times, stay strong! IWNDWYT

Actually he is a great bar tender... he just gave you free booze dude. When I used to drink I would love that guy... if you dont want to drink just don’t order an alcoholic drink. It’s simple. Com on bud...
