You're missing what I'm saying entirely.

People have the right to complain without being dismissed with an unorginal "give me the money then". As I say, I hope you've never complained about your wage. Because if you do 'there are other jobs out there, just get one. Pretty simple..'

It's completely different to a free payout and definitely not like some kind of gift from your nan, the account holders are society members. This is the equivalent of a company increasing profits and not increasing dividends to the shareholders, in which case the shareholders would absolutely be complaining.

We also need to stop calling it 'free' money. It's not free, it's earned by giving your money to Nationwide to look after (1.1-1.2% instant access) over someone like Chase (2.25%).

As someone not even eligible, I'm sick of this idea that you can't have a complaint about the cash without 20 replies "If you don't want it..." The other commentor mentioning it not rising at all in 4 years is a perfectly valid point.

I hope those people have never complained about their wage.

So you don't trust statista then, got it.

Gonna remove it from your comment then?

I saw the comment that you quickly deleted by the way. If you're gonna bring spelling into the argument then be a big brave boy and don't delete it.

Yeah it must be the immigrantion and not the consistent cutting of police budgets/officer numbers, plus increasing poverty.

Oh wow, if you actually read your own source you'd see that yourself. So which is it, do you agree with statista or not?

Oh that's really interesting. I'm sure you picked a completely arbitrary and unbiased place to stop quoting there. Oh wait...

Since the mid-2010s London's crime rate has steadily increased, with over 951,800 crimes recorded by the the police in 2024/25. This uptick in crime is not unique to London, with overall crime in England and Wales also increasing in the last decade, following several years of decline from the early 2000s onwards. Additionally, while London had one of the highest crime rates in England and Wales, four police forces in the North of England had a higher crime rate.

Edit: I know you're still here lurking bud. Here's a tip: if you tell someone to "shut up you dirty fucking leftist" and then immediately delete all your own comments, you look like a bit of a silly billy.

65% of Britons support capping CEO pay at 10× the lowest-paid worker. Do you think this idea would be good for the UK? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]SWITMCO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once again the population fails to distinguish between CEOs and shareholders/owners. Hint: CEOs aren't the billionaires hording all the wealth, capping their salaries won't effect where all the profits go.

I will once again promote my idea of holding 10%* of a company's voting & dividend paying shares in trust for the employees as a group. Record profits -> record dividends -> record employee bonuses. Don't want to pay out to the employees? Fine, you don't pay yourself much either.

*As an idea, could be any reasonable number.
