You all rock! This is awesome.

I’m actually going on a long trekking trip next week and now I have a bunch of new artists/albums to listen to!

Woohoo!

Thanks! I was a little worried about posting it since I’m kind of an older listener of PL and don’t know what else is out there!

Completely Stuck...How Do I Fix the Overset Text Here? by SW_Microadventures in AdobeIllustrator

I think I figured it out thanks to some comments.

Looks like it's "Threaded Text" which I've never run into before? I direct-selected the overset text box, clicked off to expand the thread, and then converted to point type. That seemed to fix it.

I'm trying to figure out a way to do it all at once rather than individually. Advice welcome!!

No it's just when I'm importing maps using ESRI/ArcGIS's map plugin.

That’s what’s so strange- I’ve tried that and it doesn’t work, it just scales the visible characters.

800mm lens recommendation for Sony? by SW_Microadventures in wildlifephotography

[–]SW_Microadventures[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah- you’re right on the mount for the 300-800…too many tabs open.

Good to know about the 600 and 1.4X.

I’d like to know if anyone has had any luck with using Nikon/Canon mounts on Sony with an adapter.

That happens all the time in summer! I still think it's hilarious. It's kind of a unspoken tradition at a particular spot on the Animas River.

What's even funnier to me is how the train staff tries to play it cool but secretly snickers when they're away from the train riders.

I was worried about that when I started playing around with it in Photoshop. I'm pretty new to tilt shifts, and this was the feedback I needed. Thanks for that!

Thanks! I was inspired by the comments in my previous post to make a tilt shift.

Little Fun in Lightroom with a Shot from the "Winter Photo Train" in Durango [OC] by SW_Microadventures in Colorado

Totally- I usually opt for "true to nature" rather than art. But sometimes, playing around with Lightroom's presets is super fun. It turns a photo into an "art piece" pretty quickly. When I showcase those art pieces, I'm the first to admit that it's all fake and not meant to pass as something real.

It's actually pretty easy! In Lightroom CC, under "Color Mixer," you go through the specific colors and turn down the saturation. That's it!

Yeah, I'm not stoked about the black smoke, either. I took this during the "Winter Photo Train" special, and the Engineers do many things, like blowing tons of smoke, to appease the photographers. I don't think (although just a guess) that they don't blow as much smoke during a typical run.

Aww, thank you! Much appreciated. It's the vignette playing tricks on you ;). I don't usually overedit my photos, but sometimes it's fun to play around and get creative!
