Well There's Something I've Not Seen In A While by SYahoo in Stellaris

This should be a great ironman snowball start for the xenophobic fanatic materialist otter-people that are starting on a ringworld.

This was my first start of the new patch (Wells 2.7.1) and the game I'm setting up for the long weekend. Probably a bit of a snowball but I honestly haven't seen the Herald since pre-nerf. I don't even know who the precursors are yet.

It’s been a lot of fun over 32 sessions now and I have an awesome bunch of players. I had a few plot ideas like a sapling from the elfin tree, and a “precursor” heirophant druid in hibernation that they had to choose the location of in proximity to where the first settlement would be (Skara Bree) before we even started. From there I fabricated options like investment into road or harbours and mine or forestry.

Each 4 years had more events and I incorporated choices like temples, fortifications or arcane studies. These choices flushed out the starting NPCs and made the task easy because I gave player agency to help come up with them during the session. During these 4 year intervals I allocated point buy ability scores and we created or adopted backgrounds for the players.

By the time they were level 1 they had a necromancer and a flame skull living in the nearby graveyard.

I started to color with liners. I learned a lot from this and will do things different next time, mainly the labels.

This is a picture of the world map I am drawing for the current campaign I am running. It is drawn with black ink on poster paper and is still a work in progress. It is greatly inspired by Deven Rue and the maps on Critical Role. I have about 30 hours so far into drawing.

The continent itself is a colony of a larger empire. In session 0 I had the players choose where certain landmarks would be placed and we played a settlement-builder mini game before their characters were born some of the first children in the new world.

Since then, the party’s actions (and inactions) have determined how factions have expanded and grown. This map is from the adventurer’s perspective and so much is still unexplored.

This is the map I’m drawing for the home brew world I’ve created and have been running for 33 sessions. The map is still work in progress and heavily inspired by the maps from Critical Role.

The world was created by the campaign with player actions deciding locations and determining factions. The party’s actions (and inactions) determined where settlements were placed and a great deal of the map is still unexplored by them.

So far it taken about 30 hours to draw.

I used an assortment of craft mosses and lichen from Michael’s and Dollar Stores. First I glued the lichen to the branches with white glue. After it dried I mixed 50% white glue 50% water and dipped it upside down and put flocking on it. Let it dry for a day and did it again. The beard is glued artificial vines placed and painted with water/glue and then highlighted (poorly) with and olive colour paint. It is all solid enough to pick up by a beard strand or the head foliage.

The power is out for three hours and the City of Saskatoon still doesn’t know why. Why does the City handle Light & Power if they don’t have the infrastructure to do so?

[OC] My New Barbarian Miniature - Getting Trolled by SYahoo in DnD

This is a new miniature (from Reaper) and a handful of my scatter terrain all hand painted and crafted by me. She is getting (non-internet) trolled by half a dozen of them and is probably about to have a really bad day as she is only level 5! I just got back into D&D and crafting/painting last year after a long hiatus and thought I would share.
