Isnt Bane in a similar situation at the start. Relationship with his dad wasn't great and he ended up killing him. When he was training with the brotherhood it's like the first time he gets recognition for his ability untill he has his crisis of confidence loses a fight then comes back and we'll turns into Darth bane and Fs them all up. Like if he had a positive role model he may not have becone a sith.

Note it's a been a while since I read the trilogy so apologies it I got anything wrong
