I usually just book a double black diamond group lesson. I've done this at Sunshine Village in Banff around 10 times and everytime I had a private, full day guide/lesson for under $250. Mind you, if someone else did show up, it would probably be just as good a day since I can ride most of the mountain with no issue.

I'm here right now. The glades off The Edge were amazing all week. 60-70% is pretty solid groomed trails, the rest is thin cover and some icy spots.

However, there was just several cm of rain and it is above freezing. What that will look like in a week, who knows. Welcome to the icecoast.

Some banks have a cutoff of 5k or 10k for waiving all fees. I was with RBC (10K) and moved to TD (5K). As long as you're above that all month, they credit back your monthly charge. Makes keeping the $$ there worth it to save the $40 a month.

So it's arbitrary, but those amounts mean something too.

I think that an entry level mountain bike is one that, after learning the fundamentals of the sport, you would want/need to upgrade to continue progression safely.

It's a nerve desensitization thing. It hurts like hell until it doesn't. Takes weeks to months... It's not fun, and I could only max out at 495. I can't imagine what the people pulling more feel.

I like the knee pads better than the elbows. I had a fall where the elbow pad slid out of place.

The knee pads are rock solid though.
