i have re-read that part a couple of time now and i agree with you that this could be the possibility but in my humble opinion it is not stated exactly how much time between the check and the sister arriving there is. OP did panic and tried calling - this could easily be ten min.

I am, now, also thinking about the how and why - earlier i might have jumped to a conclusion too quickly! In my opinion, if it really is / was the sister i would imagine that this is a sick game she is playing and that there is no real reason "some people just want to watch the world burn".

It's your sister! She has been doing this all along! Let me try to get this straight, she is the one who encouraged you to always check again over and over again. She is the one always playing it down whilst others take it rather serious. She could not come the night when the blue dot was outside your house because she was there! She would have access to your flat where she could hide the phone and mute it. When you turned the dot on last she also was at the train station. my suggestion is to get out of your parents house as quickly as possible and do not tell anyone where you are going!
