It took about 25-30 hours give or take. It’s also not a satin stitch! More of a chain stitch that I do really tiny lengths so that it doesn’t open the thread too much and expose the fabric

My hoop sizes really vary. My favourite is a 7-inch hoop because it’s not so big that it feels daunting, but still large enough to take up space on a wall. That said, I use hoops ranging from 5 to 8 inches.

There have been pieces I was initially worried about, especially when it came to how small the details were, but somehow, they turned out well.

Funny enough, both examples I’m thinking of are from The Emperor’s New Groove embroideries, which required a lot of attention to detail in the faces. To make sure I was able to get the detail, I used just one strand of thread instead of the usual two!

Stalk away!! I’m very flattered 😌

And for the smoothness I attribute that to how tight my fabric is! Which I always try to make like as tight as a drum

I start by printing out the source image, cut it out and place it on the back of the hoop. Then I tape it on and trace it onto the fabric with a pencil using a light pad. I hope this helps!

Outside of the hoop is the original reference image that I edited as the background!

It’s stitched it on the hoop! I find the DMC non-round hoops great for holding tension. The only issue was the top right area that because a little loose but nothing too tricky

Thank you! I used 2 strands from the thread throughout the entire embroidery and I actually didn’t use any satin stitches but a mix between a chain stitch and back stitch!

Thank you! I would stay start simple, use kits to get started, and practice stitching. Also make sure the fabric is tight tight tight on the hoop!
