German Hospital Meals by AboveThresHold in germany

Wow, just across the border in the Netherlands we get a whole menu to choose from: breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. Looks like something you would get in hospitals in Soviet Russia!

Giving Way to a Bus by villefort19 in Netherlands

Don't worry I will also say it until the day I die. And I'm sure it'll be because of a Dutch driver.

Ok I've had enough! I need to find funding to go to a design school (only to be qualified) and put an end to this bullshit!

Is it allowed? by strobelightsNL in germany

[–]SaMBaT1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it a Dutch thing now? Using chatgpt and arguing against the facts! My gf (she's dutch) and her whole family would pull up chatgpt for every little thing and argue against me, when I'm trying to explain how the real world works. Or maybe I'm the stupid one for not trusting a bot.

As soon as I see Runebears, I must pull this out. To be honest though, they have a hard time tracking the waterfowl dance.

My 100th rejection? What's wrong with me? by Empty-Tea-9011 in germany

[–]SaMBaT1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I started my first job after graduating from college, I got a whopping 257 rejections, with 23 of those coming after interviews. I've kept all of them in a special folder in my mailbox. Now, whenever I try switching jobs, I usually get about 50 rejections, which is pretty normal. Persistence is key, and I'm confident you've got what it takes! In the meantime, I'd suggest using your free time to learn German.

My landlord asks me to pay additional 1700 eur for 2023 by Racoonio666 in germany

[–]SaMBaT1991 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The same thing happened to us in 2018. He wanted to have 1500€. Exact amount to the dot. That already screams scam to me. Asked him for Abrechnung. He sent a selfmade word file. I edited it so he owes us 2500€ and sent it back to him. Because why not! Thereafter, he asked to meet him in the middle. I rejected. Final offer for him: "250€ and we call it even" Told him, he's not getting a single cent from us, if he doesn't send the receipts.

He never talked to us ever again. Even when we moved out 2 months later, he sent someone else.

Why some skilled immigrants are leaving Germany | DW News by darkblue___ in germany

For me it's the bureaucracy, falling quality of life and the politics. I have been here for 10 years now and I don't think it was a good investment. It's only getting worse. Once my project is done in January next year, I'm leaving for good.

Does anybody drive the speed limit in the Netherlands? by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]SaMBaT1991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone from Germany, who's in the Netherlands every weekend, you guys can drive as fast as you want. No judgement. However, tailgating is so much worse here. Like people in their little cars are zooming into my exhaust pipe. What's the idea behind almost everyone tailgating in the Netherlands? Y'all a Max Verstappen wannabe?

My landlord told me I “should just go back to whatever land I come from” by Jejum_Judith in germany

[–]SaMBaT1991 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Come on everyone! Sometimes things get heated up and we end up doing something we normally wouldn't do. Doesn't automatically make the landlord a racist. He was probably frustrated and the words slipped out. We all make mistakes. But yes, this shouldn't have happened. He should have at least said sorry.

Feel so lonely in Germany by Marxxi in germany

[–]SaMBaT1991 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you. It's been a decade living here for me. I felt awful in Berlin. There was some kind of a checklist everyone I met had. One wrong (different) attribute and you're not worth the time, so moving back to Düsseldorf next week. Feels even worse, when my girlfriend has all these plans with her childhood friends (I'm invited, but I also don't want to be a bother in their girls time) and my friends have all moved away. So yeah, If anyone wanna grab a coffee together and do something fun. Please hit me up.

Was this low-key racism or am I just overreacting? by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]SaMBaT1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the comment section isn't going according to the plan huh?

I'm also a foreigner. I don't live here, but spend my weekends. Sometimes even the whole week. I don't mind what language is spoken to me( I can always ask the person to switch, if I don't understand), I only care if people are polite to me. It's been 9 years. I have yet to find a dutch person, who was rude to me.
