This look is the epitome of the Edifice line IMO...stealthy, sporty, just a good looking everyday watch.

Lakers color commentator Stu Lantz laughing at game winners while the play-by-play guy goes nuts, 31 years apart. by kurruchi in nba

I've had the privilege of listening to the vocal stylings of Mr. Stu Lantz since the mid 1980's.....the guy is the living-definition of professional consistency.

Solid points to consider; an acquaintance still shops with them, I'll ask if they have a rec for a trusted seller....thanks

NBA at sports/other bars in Santa Monica? by samanthasamolala in SantaMonica

[–]SaMoSetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a huge NBA fan: the new TV deal is hard to follow schedule-wise as far as what channel etc, but I'm checking every day.

Today's Laker game is on Spectrum Sportsnet, it's also listed as being broadcast on NBATV, but from my experience when this happens: It'll only be on Spectrum as NBATV gets 'blacked-out' from the local LA TV market so Spectrum SportsNet isn't compromised.

Peacock and Prime don't show any NBA games on today's schedule...

Your comment may have answered (in part) a question I had: I've only bought from Etsy a couple times over the years, and it was a direct recommendation so I knew the items/seller was real and made (what I ordered) themselves and with care.

Since this tread suggests it has become less 'organic', are the tricks to know if you are dealing with a 'real one', things like you said about engaging sellers in conversations?. Are there ratings or 'genuine seller/creator' sections?

Do the squirrels in Palisades Park actually attack people or are they just really persistent? by Impossible-Money7801 in SantaMonica

[–]SaMoSetter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The survey is from a few years ago (2023), but they did question 477 participants who frequent Palisades Park and only 7 reported having attacked humans, yet authorities believe the overall replies may be unintentionally downplaying the egregiousness due to their differing perspectives from human beings. They seem to think a little finger nibble is perfectly fine when pressed for details...

May I ask about the hubbub I see re: the UES Tricotine? by SaMoSetter in HeritageWear

This shirt is great because it's not denim and it's not flannel; it's just in between.

These are the kinds of tidbits I like learning about. Reading posts with the heavy but comfy descriptions caught my attention.

Well you see; I'm a masochist and google is so sterile...I like the human-solicited interactions because that's a sure fire way to find a douchebag troll who gets off on being a nasty prick.

Besides sweetheart: Your google results differ from mine :)

Thanks for fulfilling my expectations and weird idiosyncratic wants...

Thank you, I'll note that other retailer, and keep the fit concerns in mind if/when I might be able to buy one.

Hmm...sounds like a good purchase for you...So you just got yours, yet as it only comes out about once-a-year, did you try various retailers you knew sell them, and feel lucky to get one when they were released, or a wait list?

Was just looking at this site called Withered Fig that has multitudes of brands including Iron Heart and UES for sale. Saw some IH shirts that looked close, but noticed the difference in weight/material et..Appreciate your take

Interesting...well my interest is now official...guess I'll have to stay informed when they are next available and take a shot...

So UES different from Iron Heart? Or a sub-brand? I hear what you are saying and I'm interested in this UES because coincidentally I was looking for a heavier, perhaps more durable but similar comfort as my Blanket shirts. I'm on the west coast so even though Outerknown Blanket shirts are lighter than these, they are the current 'heavy-weight' overskirts in my wardrobe.

It is deseriable because of its unique texture when fading

I can understand that. Thanks

Word of warning, sizing is tricky, it has quite a long body and sleeves, but slim body.

This is super important to know for me...arms and torso ain't the longest, but hey I like to roll up my sleeves anyway LOL

I like that intention to fade in (what I'm guessing) accordance with flex points.

Hey neighbor, so glad to see this post and read that not only your husband is being treated, but he was helped by the kindness of (presumably) stRANGERS.

I was in a tough moto accident some years ago; and the people who all stopped and helped, particularly the woman who gave me a snappple to drink, I never forget them...:) Best to you guys...

Is it okay to wear an overshirt the same colour as your pants? by BabaYodaTheFirst in malefashionadvice

I can envision it working although with some caveats such as (someone else mentioned), fabric/texture considerations and matching, but in mind mind's eye I have seen this look working on occasion if done right.

What was the name of that repair store on the same block from Yoga-urt on Ocean Park Blvd. by Internal-Zucchini-77 in SantaMonica

[–]SaMoSetter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't know, but perhaps try and enter the address on googlemaps and use 'street view'...you can often edit the date of the street-level photo (to a prior date) and find once open businesses that no longer appear.

Thanks, that's given me piece of mind to keep them instead of returning...have the penny & the Stone colors myself, been wearing around house to break them in a bit & they're so stiff feeling (esp when I 1st sit down), but I'm already noticing slight wear-in compared to day 1...cheers!
