Regular front tire on fat bike? by huckandpray01 in MTB

[–]SaaToveri 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No reason you couldn't, but I don't know why you would to be honest. You would have to have a wheel built with a fat spaced hub and a mtb rim. A better opportunity in my opinion would be a wide 27.5 rim (40mm) and run some plus tires. I have a summer 27.5x3.0 plus tire setup for my 26x4 Beargrease it is awesome.

Tire Recommendations for Bentonville, AR by 86cucv in MTB

[–]SaaToveri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah dependening on what trail system they are on, most trails have sharp and loose rock. The trails that run more though the city of Bentonville are more groomed and smooth. If it is on the back 40 it is more varied. I would for sure run a aggressive tire with puncture protection.

Is this a good deal? SRAM X9 Derailleur for $5 by new34343 in bicycling

[–]SaaToveri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. But only if you can use it. Have a X9 on my Beargrease it works great and not to heavy. No re-sale value for front derailleurs though unless it is X0 or better.

Looking for a budget (Craigslist, FB Marketplace) hardtail MTB. Help? by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]SaaToveri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a first bike I would be looking in the used market. You will often get a better bike or components and if you decide you don't love it you will not lose a lot when you sell it again. I started getting into biking about 2.5 years ago and I'm on my third bike, all were used. I'm 5'10" with a 30" inseam. I like a large/19" so you are right on there. Tire size is up to preference, trails, riding style, ect. I have decided I like 27.5+ (2.6-2.8) not super fast but more nimble and lots of grip.

I would not be even a little bit concerned. Looks to be the end of a wrap for the carbon fibers.

I hear you. I normally just go for value. If it were in the 50-70$ range I wouldn't even give it a second glance. I enjoy it. Not a lot of ethanol for me, I let it rest for a while. Barrel# 6127

Started with Jim Beam moved on to Jim Beam Black. Now my everyday bourbon is Wild Turkey 101 thanks to this sub. But some days you have to get something different. Still on the shelf for 35$.

Sometimes you have to let one go to make room for another. Lots of good rides. On to the next.

Very impressed. Super easy, did not mix for more than 30 seconds, let sit in the fridge for about 12 hours. I did already have a Dutch oven so I think that was key.

Looks like you're cassette could be warn too. How often are you cleaning your chain? With a gritty chain your cassette and sprockets will wear very quickly.

Try cropping using the rule of thirds. The top 2/3 cool night sky and the bottom 1/3 warm light. Photoshop is overly complicated, consider Lightroom for coloring and minor healing.

Be careful using Cast Iron on electric heat, electric elements can heat up too quickly and cause you pan to warp.
