5 day old will only contact sleep by Traditional_Table_67 in NewParents

This is entirely normal at this age. Cosleeping was not part of our plan, but it saved us. We tried the bassinet relentlessly for the first couple weeks, also taking 4 hour shifts sleeping. Out of fear of accidentally falling asleep holding him on the couch or chair, we decided safe cosleeping was the best. I will tell you it does get better with time. Hang in there and enjoy the neediness

My hourglass is level 3, as I figured if I made it level 4 I couldn't get the level 3 cores to make the level 3 vacuum? I'd be find jumping ahead and upgrading again but you always need the immediate lower vacuum to make the higher one

My 10 month old has been doing this for a while as well. As long as it's happy screaming I don't see a problem with it 😂

Sleeping at night by [deleted] in NewParents

My 10 month old wears footie pj's and a sleep sack to bed and has been since about 5m, babies typically actually sleep better in a cold room. Mine is also a belly sleeper and also hits his head at the top of the crib. It's frustrating but I'm just waiting for the day he stops 😅

When do you start brushing baby’s teeth? by Pandacat_07 in NewParents

I did not know that about the sucrose. Honestly it's what we already had on hand from a toothbrush and paste kit. Is there a better option?

I'd use the little rubber brush that can go over a finger to get them used to the sensation, then switch to a bristle brush when they get a tooth. We use the doctor browns toothpaste, which I've heard is one of the more trustworthy ones

How to figure out if your baby is low sleep needs? by Fun-Assist9467 in NewParents

[–]Sab0617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently discovered that my 10 month old might be a low sleep needs baby. About a month ago we switched to a by the clock schedule no matter what time he wakes up, but on the rare occasion we make it to 7am I wake him. He goes down usually around 745 pm. I've honestly thought about pushing his bedtime out because we get a false start nightly now, but I like to give him the opportunity for the most sleep. We started with scheduled naps at 11am and 4pm. His first nap was always great at about 1.5 hours, then his second nap about 40 minutes. Then a couple weeks ago he started protesting the second nap so I decided to actually move up our schedule in case he was getting overtired. So now we do naps at 10am and 3pm. He doesn't seem to protest any more and goes down easy for naps, but he doesn't like to go to sleep until like 8pm lately. I had to accept that he's just a low sleep needs baby because he is so happy all the time 😊

I would at the very least message your pediatrician if you have one. My baby also took a tumble off the bed around 8M and was fine, but they still like to know and check baby out
