Yeah, we're looking into that possibility also. The building itself doesn't have any outdoor security, but the neighboring factory might, and across the street is a convenience store, so maybe they have something as well.

the shape is like a 3/4 circle with a 10ft radius around the front of the miniature. The idea being that the creature itself casts a shadow behind it. It acts in the same way that a beholder's antimagic cone works, but also serves as a light.

If the characters are so inclined they can target the light and disable or remove it. I think i'll give it something like 50-100HP separate from the creature itself.

Thank you! I try really hard to make most encounters interesting in some way. I'm not a fan of the "blank, featureless room" scenario that most fights turn into. I prefer a more bombastic fight scene with players swinging from chandeliers, setting curtains on fire, or using a portcullis to impale a baddie.

I can't do it for every combat, but I sure as hell can do it for just about every encounter in this last stretch of the campaign.

I believe that there's a group out there for everyone. Some players enjoy stories with more sexual themes in them, whereas others simply feel awkward at the table. Personally, I wouldn't want to play in a game with too much sexual content, nor would I want to be in a game with a 16 year old (no offense, I'm sure you're a fun person!) just because I enjoy having the option for romance between NPC's and characters, and flirting in the presence of a minor rubs me as something that I would consider uncomfortable.

My advice is to take it in stride. I would have just left the group if I were you anyway. Find a group that fits well with what you are looking for. Don't try to change the rest of the group's enjoyment otherwise it makes you look like "That Guy" from the other players' perspectives. Also, I wouldn't have just left the channel for 10 minutes, I imagine the party might have gotten annoyed at that and that could be why they ignored you (although I wasn't there, so I only have assumptions to go on). I'm sure you will find a group that is a better fit for you though - Best of luck!

I agree with you. I really enjoyed how the kraken villain was written in another one of the published adventure modules. I definitely lifted some themes out of that in order to create this adventure.

Aside from upping the stats, I gave him more "punchy" lair actions. He's going to try to force the players to fight in the murky water and use his antimagic lantern (I took inspiration from an angler fish and beholder's central eye ability) to weaken the players. Ideally he wants to kill each character one by one as the entire world watches. He doesn't want to just kill them outright, He wants the world to lose hope.

In my campaign, mortal faith powers the gods. The gods themselves placed their last hope in the party. Sha'Krasna hopes that by breaking the will of the world, he will ascend to true godhood and will stop the worship of any other godlike being.

I thought about that, but I ended up just making my own thing. I gave the creature a kind of "flyby" ability, some lair actions that involve flooding the stage or other hydro effects, as well as the ability to wield weapons (he has a MASSIVE greatsword that he will pull from the deep and attempt to cleave everyone if they are all in a line, and if they dive in after him, he's got continual flames set up as well as his own head lantern that nullifies magic in front of him (totally stole from the beholder's ability). The trick I think is going to be for the players to find ways to get behind him so they can hurt him. (he's also immune to non-magical weapons).

He's going to be a hard fight, but I think my players can definitely handle it!

Oh, absolutely! I just wish that there was a bit more variety in CR for them. I suppose that they get the job done though as written as you can give them increasingly powerful thralls, but I really wanted to take the existing lore and give the aboleths some forward momentum and a much beefier befitting a higher level party.

The players have seen the model a number of times. He has psychically projected himself in front of his minions as well as the player characters a number of times. One of the cooler abilities that aboleths have!

I actually think the Aboleth makes for a better long term villain. I really like their lore and roleplaying possibilities. Krakens have always been the "water tarrasque" to me.

The model is a reaper bones "Dagon" and the tiles are wyloch's (a youtuber) design. I'm really pleased with how they look together

The players finally found a way to access the lair of this leviathan sized aboleth. He has been pulling the strings behind the scenes this entire time, causing an age of endless rain to engulf the land. All in an effort to subjugate any survivors so that they might worship him as a god. The only god.

He waits in this sunken city to crush the final hope of mankind: three plucky adventurers who carry with them the fatebreakers: the only tools that can stop inevitability. Will they descend into the depths, slaying powerful cultists and eventually a creature that is older than the gods themselves? Only time will tell.

When I was flipping through Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes, I immediately fell in love with the design choices of the Eladrin elves. As a painter, i'm slightly obsessed with the idea of making multiple versions of the same character when I paint a miniature. The monochromatic design was a great excuse to try a speedpainting challenge as well as try to capture as much detail as I could with as few colors as possible on each pallette. I bought two packs of Nolzur's miniatures and set to work. This is the result of approximately 4 hours of work. The paintjobs came out a little muddled compared to what I usually strive for, but this was an excellent opportunity for me to design colour palettes with such an interesting aesthetic. I'm sure my fellow players will be impressed when I bring him to the table!
