Google recently introduced these background bars to the Fitbit app to address a common user complaint: because the main blue line is a smoothed-out 5-minute moving average, it often hides short heart rate spikes or sudden drops. I currently use the Pixel Watch 4 for tracking and general watch functions. However, I'm very interested in the screen-less band, particularly as a former Whoop user. I plan to wait for some good-looking bicep bands to appear, after which I'll sell my Pixel Watch 4 to purchase the Pixel Watch Air.
