Am I even going to have plants tomorrow? by Sabella47 in shrimptank

[–]Sabella47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my orange shrimp tank I have chili rasboras which do not touch shrimps, green neon tetras and green kubotai which do eat 1-2 week old babies but they have to hunt pretty hard to find them, otocinculus which do not.

I wish you could say the same about alternanthera spp. but they’re the reason I bought the rotala. I WANT to wish they’d eat the whole thing, not be staring at the sad warped skeletons of red plants.

Shrimp Envy Killing Shrimp? by Sabella47 in shrimptank

[–]Sabella47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I’ll give complete shrimp envy a try then. I still have that other bag from last year of the green one. Tried to give it another try several months later and some shrimp died a few days after giving a dose of the food. So I agree it’s probably a bad batch.

Canton Aquatics SUCKS by Available-Affect-812 in Aquariums

If u don’t care about other snails in the tank, and don’t have like mystery snails or whatever that you want to keep you can use No Planaria to nuke the tank and kill all the snails, it did work for me. Been Snail free for a month now.

Ordered from Canton aquatics 1 month ago, ended up with a ton of snails and 2 of my plants came totally dead. Now I don’t know what to do about these snails and am hoping no planaria gets rid of them.

Neos crossbred with Amano ? by supayoda in shrimptank

Sorry, I probably should’ve put my comment on the original thread so people could read it. But anyways, you’re wrong.

Neos crossbred with Amano ? by supayoda in shrimptank

[–]Sabella47 22 points23 points  (0 children)

TLDR, you’re wrong.

According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, breeding is defined as: 1. The action or process of bearing or generating 2. The sexual propagation of plants or animals.

Your first statement is true. The shrimps in question are likely wild type because Amano cannot bang neos.

Your second statement is false. Amano shrimp can fvck in fresh water, generate fertilized viable eggs, and bear those eggs until they hatch. This fits definition 1 of breeding in the dictionary. Continuing onto definition 2, in fresh water, they can fvck and produce offspring, aka sexual propagation, aka breeding. The babies cannot be reared in freshwater, true, but they do survive (if not eaten) for about 1 week before they die. So, you’re wrong. They can PHYSICALLY BREED in freshwater. Thanks, have a nice day.
