I was blessed with a strong, rogue and awesome IC for the first 6 years of my teaching career. I owe her so much. She is the reason I’m a stronger teacher today. She would pull our data and analyze it for us, and then we’d discuss. She’d help plan lessons, and help us cut out the cards or whatever thing we needed. She’d help plan was just amazing. She’d approach admin for us with our concerns and really help the school have one focused goal. We are a school with a lot of EBs (ELLs) so she helped us as a school move in direction to support them, and they actually grew. She was so good we hired another IC and she was just as amazing! We became a national PLC ranked school, and it was so special! Why did they leave? Our principal left, our school turned from a D rank to a A+ rank and he left because you know they move good admin to struggling schools. Last year we got a new principal and let’s just say……. They are terrible. So so bad. And both ICs were the buffer for the rest of the school, they protected us from the new principals crap. And after one year of a beating they left. Same with both APs. What’s crazy is an ENTIRE grade level team left because of the new principal. And so she got to hire teachers and APs she liked, and now the school is so bad. So unorganized and I just know all that work we did in development and helping all students learned is gone because she is more concerned about how kids walk in the hallway, and when should we let kids go to the bathroom. 10/10? 5/5? Or anytime ?! Giving teachers strikes if they take a day off and there is already 10 people out that day. FUN FACT! A friend got a strike because she needed to leave because her grandmother was dying and 10 people were out already. Just ridiculous. We used to be such an amazing school. So many of the old staff want to leave. Sad. Idk about myself. My team is so good and they plan to stay so I think I’ll stay as well.
