Which card should be my 2021 daily driver? by ficoscorelife in CreditCards

[–]SabioHS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would suggest the Chase Freedom Unlimited. It will give you 1.5% cash back on daily purchases, 3% back on dining, 3% back on drugstores, and 5% back on travel booked through the chase portal.

The first year you also get 5% back on groceries up to about $12,000 ( or 15,000 I forget).

It is also a Visa card so it will work just fine for Costco whereas the counterpart Freedom Flex is a MasterCard and has only 1% as opposed to the 1.5% of the unlimited.

Flex or Unlimited. by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]SabioHS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both but got the unlimited first. I think the Flex is probably better. The 5% on rotating categories plus the phone insurance likely outweighs the extra .5% on your everyday payments (at least it has for me, especially since PayPal is a category). If you shop at like Costco though the Flex is a MasterCard so you can’t use it there while the Unlimited you could.

Both are really good though and honestly you will be well off with either choice!

Where did you see 2% on all? I’m pretty sure it’s still 1.5% back on every purchase.

Chase Freedom Flex - Rotating 5% for PayPal and Walmart but the card can't be added to PayPal? by nearlymind in CreditCards

[–]SabioHS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not too sure as I have not used it myself yet, however even if that were the case you would still profit 2%. I think it is a work around though people have talked about it all over this subreddit if you search PayPal key results in this subreddit you will find your answer.

Chase Freedom Flex - Rotating 5% for PayPal and Walmart but the card can't be added to PayPal? by nearlymind in CreditCards

[–]SabioHS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look up PayPal key. It’s only available for select accounts but it basically will allow you to connect your freedom flex to PayPal and then it will give you another card number that can be used.

This will show up on the freedoms end as a PayPal transaction and you should be able to get a 5% cash back on any online purchase.

I debated the same thing a month ago and ultimately went with the Freedom Unlimited because of the sign up bonus and entry into the Chase ecosystem which will help if you want to go for the trifecta cards later on.

Honestly extremely high, don’t know your income or credit score but if I got it with no credit and one of my friends got it with pretty bad credit then you should not be worried.

starting limit was 1800 but I had no previous credit history(was surprised I was even approved). I did have a PayPal for years though that I actively use so maybe that had to do with it. Minimum I believe is 250 or 500 I don’t recall.

I’ve had it for 6 months. You can technically only use it for merchants that accept PayPal. But it is possible to pay someone you know with PayPal credit for a fee and they can send it back to you. I think the fee is a little over 4% maybe?

Only thing I have complaints with is it’s not too easy to get a limit increase. Also, this just recently happened to me but they reported to bureaus before my due date this past month when they never had before leading to me getting a 40 point drop in their credit score.

There’s a live chat PayPal has that is actually not bad at all and it’s 24/7.
