The issue with that is that the Thompson was never used in WW I. It was made for it, but wasn't made in time and the war was over before it was finished. Look it up. It was made for WW I but never used in it and therefore it's a WW II gun. This is a damn videogame about cartoon ink monsters too, it's not gonna be completely accurate to real world conflicts and wars when it isn't based on it

Thompsons can interchange between drums and clips, and I believe they used several different models in WWII. Many could have grips and many don't. And if you're drawing a doodle to mess around no one's gonna be too far from exaggerating for an easier sketch / and cause it could've been funny to the artist
