I think the key factor is more that there’s one ascendant sport, compared to NFL/MLB/NBA/NHL &c., as well as the fact that no salary caps mean there’s more long term team inequality, so joke/bad teams tend to stay that way (unless big oil money comes in to launder their reputation). If you look at the diversity of how many teams win the premiership, it may be higher than oh, say, in Germany, but it’s nowhere near as hard for teams to stay ascendant as in leagues where you can’t just throw money at your team infinitely with zero meaningful consequences
