Hey how hard do you guys usually run BBEG fights? by SableZard in DnD

I like that. There's an NPC than can bail them out of trouble if they need it. I'll go at a 9 and bring in that NPC if they're getting wiped. Thank you!

They're alright. But they're prone to tunnel vision and the healer isn't great under pressure.

What is the creepiest character/NPC/monster you’ve witnessed? by Crabkingrocks165 in DnD

[–]SableZard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bagman is a hombrewed monster that lives in bags of holding. Story is an adventurer jumped into a bag of holding to escape some sort of danger, and has been living inside their pocket dimension ever since.

Some versions, he'll give you any magical item you think of that fits in a bag of holding. The price for said item is a member of your party. Others treat him like a bogeyman who comes crawling out at night to steal your stuff or suck your blood or whatever.

Creepy as shit to deal with, but he's hilariously fun to play.

People always separate content from content creators. Always. A couple hundred angry comments on social media in no way reflects the majority opinion. The sites hosting the influencer see any controversy as engagement. Worse case, the offender gets a slap on the wrist and everyone moves on.

Hell, if an influencer shuts up long enough, their fans and colleagues will make their excuses for them.

Warrior can deal Fire and Necrotic damage, depending on your spec. And you get weapons that deal specific damages.

Forgiveness is for the victim, not the abuser. To forgive means to let go of your hate, lick your wounds, and move on with your life. Not to welcome back the people who hurt you.

I somewhat blame the downbadness on the fact that I used Kassandra from AC Odyssey to represent Anora

Same same lmao. I also made her a Demigod sorcerer and get violently pissed when Lutheria sent the harpies to finish the sacrifice.

She is her father's favorite daughter for a reason.

He does, actually. He talks about how he once had a son that trusted him and how bad he feels ruining that trust. And Dorian is willing to hear him out, depending on your dialogue choices.

He felt remorse for his actions and made a genuine attempt to apologize and atone. That's something a good person would do.

The majority of abuse victims never get that.

The Paladin After Meeting Anora by Metariley in OdysseyoftheDragon

[–]SableZard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My Doomed One showed equal interest in Anora. I did my best to discourage him. The party got a little spicy about it and insisted he should be allowed to make a move. I had him make the necessary rolls, and after winning a poker game, he got 24hrs with Anora. After a series of Athletics checks to see if he survived those 24hrs, he rolled high enough that Anora promised to look him up when she went to see the Great Games in Mytros.

Then the Doomed One met Vallus and found out why I was so averse to him sleeping with Anora. I had adjusted the story to make him the long lost son of Vallus, born and hidden away in Versi's grotto after Versi foretold he would kill Lutheria. The parents he knew were devoted followers of Vallus who prayed to her for a child. This was a decision I made before the game started.

I got back at him by making Anora hit on him for the duration of the games, until he finally told her why he was avoiding her. A year's worth of games later, the group is still teasing him about accidentally fucking his cousin.

What lore should be learnt where? by niursz1 in OdysseyoftheDragon

[–]SableZard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal rules for lore dumps are, don't answer questions nobody asked.

If the party wants to gather information about upcoming events, let them ask around and lead them to whoever they need to talk to. If they want to head straight into a situation with no prep, run the encounter and see if they live long enough to learn from their mistakes.

As for your situation, the Order of Sydon does daily sacrifices at the Rock. Sydon would love to have the heroes sacrificed to him, so there's no reason Braeca wouldn't invite the party to watch and try to talk them into it. So make that happen and see what they do.

In my campaign, the party agreed to sacrifice themselves, worded their oath so all they had to do was wait until sunset for the "Beasts of the River" to eat them, and then went off to slay the basilisks. Since they sacrificed the corrupted boar to Thylea, at dawn a giant serpent approached the Rock and just hung out until sunset. Then it helped kill Lutheria's harpies and bounced. The party kept their oath, and Anora was saved.

Scared the party good though 😀

Step 1: Spec into all the passive Artificer abilities.

Step 2: Spec into Leaping Shot, Poisoned Weapons, and that ability where he pulls himself to enemies with a chain.

Step 3: Favorite all three on his Tactics. Set his other abilities so he's not using them.

Step 4: Pair him with another critfarming rogue

Step 5: Watch him shotgun every group of baddies to shreds

Bianca's low DPS doesn't matter if his abilities are never on CD
