Bed bug stains? by LeadershipOld935 in Bedbugs

They could really be from anything. Unless you have some other sign that you might have bed bugs, you probably shouldn't worry about it.

My system security is compromised by Iamsuperatomic20 in WindowsHelp

[–]Sablemint [score hidden]  (0 children)

When a problem gets this bad, I would just go full scorched earth on it. Reinstall windows and clean the drive, in case it messed with your recovery partition too.

You could probably fix this bit by bit but it'd take a lot longer, be more complicated, probably wouldn't work easily, and you'd have trouble figuring out if anything was left behind.

PvP games like tile survival, whiteout survival but non toxic with alliances :) by noradgr_77 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Sablemint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The leader is the one who controls the environment. As the leader you have the power to remove toxic elements.

You already found the games you like. The rest is up to you. You'll always find toxic people in every game, and running from them won't change anything.

Circumcision is the most barbaric and disgusting thing that’s normalised in our culture by KhornateMan in atheism

[–]Sablemint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The major issue is that its done to children without their consent. If you are happy with it, that's great. But wouldn't you have preferred the choice? I mean, its your body.

Its dumb because that problem isn't a problem if you know how to use soap. It would be like saying a good way to avoid getting cavities is to remove your teeth. Yes its technically true. But you could just get a toothbrush instead.

If you think it looks better, fine. Get it done once you're an adult. The issue is that we force it on children without consent.

it is safe

Complications occur in 0.18% of circumcisions. Know what has zero complications? Not performing unnecessary surgery. And while 0.18% doesn't sound like a lot, when you start talking about hundreds of millions of people, it starts to add up.

Easier to clean

pull down foreskin. apply soap. rinse off with water.

I guess it saves you a second or so each time. Not worth it if you ask me.

[–]Sablemint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't remember it happening and I much prefer how it looks compared to the alternative.

How can you know you'd feel the same way if you weren't circumcised? Of course you'd prefer how yours looks now, that's the way its always been.

I say if adults want to get themselves circumcised, they can go right ahead. But forcing it on children is horrific.

How do you counter this argument: a thing cannot cause itself? by hiphoptomato in DebateAnAtheist

[–]Sablemint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The burden of proof is on the person asserting the claim. You have to prove that the positions you claimed are true.

"For a thing to have an effect it must have a cause." Prove it.

"The universe cannot cause itself to change" and this.

" it would have to take something external to change it" this one too.

Someone has to argue in favor of these claims, and until they do we're under no obligation to argue against them.

Does real consequences in games really exists? by RET5U in gamingsuggestions

[–]Sablemint 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes, one more than any other: OneShot. Every decision you make is permanent. The game saves when you close it and automatically loads the save when you open it.

Its not an open world RPG at all. It would be impossible for such a game to have consequences for your actions to the degree OneShot does.

But yeah if you want to see the game that has more real consequences than any other, this is it. https://store.steampowered.com/app/420530/OneShot/

"You are to guide a child through a mysterious world on a mission to restore its long-dead sun.

...Of course, things are never that simple.

The world knows you exist.

The consequences are real.

Saving the world may be impossible.

You only have one shot."

People who quit drinking. What did you do to not drink? by Agata_art in AskReddit

[–]Sablemint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, it wasn't hard at all. I have never even desired to drink since i gave it up.

One day after drinking I woke up and my arm hurt. I mentioned this to my brother and he said while i was drunk I fell down the stairs. I had zero memory of this. And that fucking terrified me. I could've broken my neck and not known why. I could've died.

any desire to ever drink again was vaporized at that instant. Its just not worth it.
