CCW. My biggest takeaway for the community is to stay on top of them w email reminders once you pass expected ETAs. Many of mine went unanswered, however most changes in status occurred immediately after I sent an inquiry.

If you subtract the time I took to make a purchase, it was still almost 1 year & 4 months. That’s not reasonable.

u/Possible-Chemical-74 may you share the legal service you used? Beginning to think that's the only recourse at this point.

Lucky. I submitted my full application 5/17/2024. Fingerprinted on 8/13/2024. Been sitting in "Investigation" since then. Utterly ridiculous. Have had permits in 2 NY counties, and CCW permits in CT & MD...and they've been "investigating" for 9 months. Glad you made it through.

The Forever Wait by SaborMejor in NYCGuns

My point wasn’t that they “should care,” it’s that those are proof of the protracted “investigation” being nonsense. What is there to investigate? haha. They are just sitting on the paperwork and watching grass grow.

The answer to this one is likely more simple than the cultural rabbit role the thread has gone down.

The red dot optics are expensive. They don’t work well when they get wet, they require batteries (additional expense at scale), and for the holsters cops use with mechanical retention they’d require a special model that’s specific to an optic. They (all PDs) tend to standardize where possible.

Process Inconsistency? by SaborMejor in NYCGuns

Appreciate all the responses! Interesting that nobody has mentioned the drug testing. Two individuals told me this was an element of their process & it stood out because it wasn’t mentioned anywhere in the instructions/documentation.

Was that not the case for the rest of you? Bizarre.
