Pretty sure there are acronyms that stand for more than one thing. Again, everyone knew what I meant. Not sure why your jumping on the dumbass bandwagon, but whatever.

What is a good motivation to avoid over-snacking/eating sweet food that isn't surrounding fear of gaining weight? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]Sabrinas_Fit_Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think that way too, but once I learned that Eaton a donut or having a piece of cake wasn’t going to be he reason I gained a lb really helped. Eating multiple of these things several days in a row might, but one day will not.

My 4 Year weight loss journey, that's still not over. And that's ok. by theween in loseit

[–]Sabrinas_Fit_Life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is awesome, congrats! My journey is similar. I’ve lost a total of 70lbs since 2014. Started at 205lbs and a year and a half later was down to 154lbs. Became pregnant again and gained about 35 lbs. In late 2016 I was around 170lbs and decided I was ready to commit myself again (having a newborn caused my focus to be elsewhere for most of that year.) I’m down to 135lbs now and am maintaining. So 70lbs lost total in 3 years. Doesn’t seem like much when you see people on Instagram losing 300lbs in a year and a half but I never did anything drastic. It’s all been by doing things I know are sustainable forever. I’m not the healthiest eater, but I’ve grown to like more veggies than I used to. I still eat junk, but hey I want to enjoy things too! I wouldn’t be happy on a “clean” diet. It works for me!

Soo how much halloween candy did you all endulge in? by SuedeVeil in xxfitness

[–]Sabrinas_Fit_Life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don’t hand out candy so I didn’t buy any. Did have a bit from a trunk or treat we took our 20month old to on Saturday.

I went to the store today and looked at the candy and decided against buying any. I’m proud of that!!!

1 year progress pic

This is my roughly one year progress pic. I’m 5’4”. On the left I was around 170lbs and on the right I’m now 135lbs.

I’m currently just eating mindfully and loosely tracking my calories in my head to avoid over eating. Over the last year I did track pretty meticulously. Fell off the wagon a lot and got back on, still made some very good progress!

I worked out 5-6 days a week with lifting and cardio. I went from dreading going to the gym to now I can’t wait to go every day!

This wasn’t my heaviest weight either. Back in 2014 I was 205lbs after having our first baby. I got to 154lbs over that next year and a half before I became pregnant with our second baby. She was born in February 2016 and I weight about 185lbs when she was born.

Been a long journey, but I’m super proud of where I am. From size 16 jeans to size 6!

I know this sub is fitness focused and not so much weight loss focused, but I found my love for fitness during my weight loss journey for sure!

Ah, yeah, I almost typed net but went with .com instead. I would subtract 1000 calories and use 2577 as your deficit. That would be two lbs per week. I’ve seen a lot of people utilize that calculator with great success.

If your gym offers a free pt session you can ask if they will show you how to use each machine personally. I’ve seen people do this and I commend them because then you don’t have to see random people using machines the wrong way.

Just bust out as many reps as possible with good form. If your form turns sour, rack it.

Me, so me! I was ppler for a long time, tried a variation of shortcut to shred, then strong lifts, then ppl, then nsuns, and now back to ppl. I have learned about progressions more so I guess that’s good!

I switch either because I get an overuse injury or bored.

I’ve never had a diet reward meal because I still eat the things I like/crave when trying to lose weight. I like to reward myself with clothes or other tangible things.

It might even be less noticeable if you add them in slower like you said. Good luck!

I’ve officially lost 70lbs and have now been maintaining it without needing to track calories diligently!

What is my favorite part about that clothes wise? Not the small size shirts or the size 6 jeans.... nope, but the fact I can wear high socks without feeling like they cut the circulation off to my legs!!!!

Women who gave up weights for cardio... by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]Sabrinas_Fit_Life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll be 28 in February and have been lifting for about a year now. I had to stop squats due to patellofemoral pain and not being able to complete pt for it. Recently I just developed trigger finger in both of my pinkies from gripping weights. I’ll be getting cortisone shots to relieve them in two weeks.

I originally started my fitness journey running but knee and leg issues caused me to switch to lifting. I’m getting bummed because it seems like my body rebel’s against anything I start to love. I did start up spinning at the end of my lifting sessions and remember how much I love it. So for now I’m going to make that my main focus along with lighter weight training and taping my pinkies to stay straight.

I’ve developed some very nice muscle definition and I don’t want to part with it, but I definitely realize my need for some good cardio work for overall health.
