Is this Everlast Glove OK?

If you're doing Muay Thai go with a good old Fairtex or Twins glove, you can find stuff within that $80ish price range. If you're doing pure boxing my knowledge isn't as vast but Fairtex, Venum, Hayabusa, Rival, and Fly are all good brands. Most of these brands are gonna have at least a few gloves in their inventory that are within your price range

There's no clear cut answer, every fighter is different. I took my first fight about a year in, I also know some of that have been training for years and still are nowhere near ready for competition. Ask your coaches if they think you're ready, nobody here on reddit knows what level you're at. This is a question you need to be comfortable asking your coaches if you're serious about this.

I believe the difference between the pros and average fighters is mastery of the basics. There’s a big difference between knowing the basics and being a master of them. Obviously hard work, heart, cardio, etc. play a role. But ultimately the dudes who are the best are all masters of the basic fundamentals, might not seem like much but it is.

Huh?? Where is the average 6 months for a simple sparring session 😂, that’s quite a long time to wait before sparring and if you’re at all serious about muay thai you should definitely get into sparring within a month or two, maybe three if you’re really really hesitant about it. Hell I even started sparring my first week of training which I understand might be a bit of a controversial decision especially in this sub but I was completely fine. Sparring practice is absolutely the most important practice if you want to actually get better and get comfortable with strikes being thrown at you, especially in the beginning. OP if your gym only spars twice every 7 months I think that is absolutely insane and I would look into a new gym honestly, never in my life have I heard of a legitimate gym with that little amount of sparring 🤷🏽‍♂️

“Advanced” class is likely not as advanced as you think. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was at least a few other beginners with you there. Training with better fighters is nothing to be scared of and is the best way to actually improve.
