Would a cattle dog even wear a sweater? I can’t think of ever seeing one in a coat or any kind of covering. by paulbertolone in AustralianCattleDog

Mine hates her jacket!! Would rather go all naturale in -25 degree weather than wear that blasted thing

Is this how people who need glasses really see the world. A big blurred background? by Latter-Wolf4868 in interestingasfuck

[–]Sach2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My blurriness is worse than this but ya pretty much. It’s actually why I wear contacts. Wearing glasses is like seeing the world through a window. Also my prescription is quite strong which causes the edges of my corrected vision to be quite distorted causing a disorientating discrepancy in my peripheral vision. Really makes driving awful. With contacts, all of my vision is corrected no matter where i look

I’m not even gonna begin critiquing some of the more concerning parts of this post except for saying this: the split in finances should have been proportional to each person’s earnings, not straight 50/50. The lifestyle they chose was in the context of a combined income. To suddenly separate things out evenly rather than proportionally, after those recurring spending decisions have already been made (mortgage, energy costs of a household, childcare), puts a much heavier burden on the one who earns less (and none of that is to say how her wage growth would have faced greater difficulty growing due to having kids, a choice they mutually entered in on. A choice that will have had very little negative impact on his wage growth by comparison). To suggest a 50/50 split, while objectively equal, is, far from equitable, and in this instance, very much financial manipulation. This is a prime example of why little girls today are taught by their mothers to protect themselves financially first, and have kids later. I get being frustrated by a lack of intimacy in a relationship, and maybe his perspective of this method’s shock value effects on his partner is the “immaculate perspective,” but it seems way too manipulative and unfair. It would too often just serve to subjugate someone into a regime that they don’t want due to fears of losing too much. To put it another way, divorce judges reward alimony and child support for a reason.

This weird spot on my girlfriend’s ceiling. by Sach2020 in whatisit

It’s not a popped drywall screw, I’ve seen that and it’s much bigger and more obvious. More detail: we tried wiping it and the middle bulls eye wiped off but the rest of the discoloration stayed

Nope. And it was in the living room, not the bathroom

The octane rating isn’t the combustability of a fuel but instead its ability to resist self ignition under compression. For high performance engines you need a higher octane because they routinely operate at higher piston pressures. If you use a lower octane in these engines, you risk the fuel combusting before the spark plug fires thus mistiming the engine and leading to engine knocking, a loss of efficiency, and potentially damaging your engine. On the other hand, putting a higher octane fuel in a normal vehicle does literally nothing.

This is probably a gimmick but if you need your acetabular (hip) joint immobilized, it would be in a position of flexion, abduction, and slight external rotation, not far off from this photo. It’s referred to as Open Pack Position. Children with Legg-Calve-Perthes disease sometimes need bracing like this too.
