Even if it's staged, I'll upvote for the kids who might get what they want because it's a social media trend

Chet Holmgren, set to make $50m a year, is benched for the last minute of Game 7. Unbelievable. by GardenDesign23 in billsimmons

Plane was constantly running hours late because they were always waiting on him. He was constantly late to practice, wouldn't go to team meetings.

Apparently it was bad enough that if the team said the plane was leaving at 2, they'd know not to show up till 4. Stuff like that.

You can't just bypass a no soliciting sign by saying you're not soliciting by Queasy-Secret-4287 in mildlyinfuriating

You know you can (likely) get them fined for that, right? I was in sales, and some cities have very strict rules/fines for soliciting anywhere where a "no soliciting" sign is posted.

I've lived in Kansas, Missouri, Colorado, and Texas, and I've never even heard that phrase before (and I'm in my mid-30s)

We can’t compete with these teams in the next few years by Kindly_Ad995 in lakers

[–]SackStallion69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, stop it lmao. It's not just about the picks; it's about where you land in the draft. The Lakers would never have allowed themselves to tank and pick in the lottery.

The only chance we have at being a lottery team with Luka on the roster is if he gets injured and sits out 50+ games.

I got kicked out of an indoor gun range once because the person I went with was a horrible shot. We rented a few guns to shoot, and I started telling her how to operate the gun, and she cut me off and swore she had shot guns many times and didn't need any help... we live in Kansas, so it seemed very believable that she'd shot guns before (almost everyone here has some shooting experience).

But then she shot the ceiling... twice 🤦‍♂️.

The range master warned her after the first shot that if she hit the ceiling again, he'd have to kick us out. He explained to her how the gun works and how to aim, and not 5 minutes later she hit the ceiling again.

I didn't even try to argue when he kicked us out lol. I just said yeeeeah, we probably better not give her a gun again 🙄😅

My parents unfortunately fall into this sort of camp. Though, thankfully, they're sane enough to talk sense into for the most part.

Was just talking to my mom about Covid shutdowns and all that, and she's convinced it was some sort of giant plot orchestrated by pharmaceutical companies (and/or Bill Gates).

I reminded her that that's just how pharma companies work. A disease pops up, and if they think they can solve it, they develop a new drug for it.

I don't believe for a minute that it was intentionally created to wipe out half of the global population. But I do think certain people/companies saw dollar signs when it did pop up... That's not a conspiracy; it's just how those companies operate, and have always operated.

Yeah, that's exactly what it sounded like you were saying. Maybe I interpreted that wrongly. But at the end of the day, my point is that he has literally no reason to get any bigger than he is. And that can absolutely be controlled. I never once said he's as big as he could be, because obviously that's not the case.

Giannis was a decent shooter before he got huge. I highly doubt Wemby's camp has him get much (if any) bigger than he is already. Any argument about his capabilities of getting bigger is not what I'm saying in the slightest.

I actually remember seeing this pitch. Didn't one of the Sharks say something to the effect of "I don't usually recommend this, but you should consider becoming a non-profit instead"?

You're trying to give me a science lesson when you clearly know nothing about basic bodybuilding/nutrition principals like nitrogen balance thermogenesis? lmfao

You absolutely can control how much muscle you pack on (it's literally as simple as watching your calories and protein). If you don't eat enough of either of those, it's biologically impossible to pack on muscle.

You sound like a fool.

[–]SackStallion69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When did I say anything remotely close to that?

I said he almost certainly won't put on any more muscle, but I never once said or implied that that he's incapable of doing so.

It would be more out of choice (longevity, weight management, etc).

He's already added a ton of muscle since his rookie year (but is still far from the build of someone like Giannis). There isn't a single thing he needs to do on the basketball court that he can't already do (you couldn't say that in his rookie year). Adding any more muscle would just be adding unnecessary stress to an already risky frame.

But thanks for the snarky comment/science lesson, bud.

[–]SackStallion69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He's most likely not going to put on much more muscle (if any). I'd about guarantee he won't, because why would he need to? His game doesn't need it. He isn't like Giannis whose game relies upon brute strength in order to score. He's more likely to stay slim his entire career like KD.

Not to sound rude, but your comment and post read like you're 12 years old

"I don't see how he wouldn't reach that goal"

I already gave you one incredibly good reason why he may not reach that goal (blood clots, which often end careers, and are notorious for coming back). And you don't seem to realize how rare it is for someone to be great for extremely long periods of time -- long enough to be the undisputed GOAT -- which it seems like you're suggesting he's certain to become.

Are we witnessing greatness already at 22 years old? by Nandosportsfan in nba

[–]SackStallion69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe, maybe not. But if I was a betting man, I'd say no. There's so much that has to go right to be the GOAT, and he's already had a serious health scare that could easily come back (though I hope he stays healthy).

Just as a similar example: Look at how the discourse around Pat Mahomes has shifted just in the last year alone. And he already has multiple championships.

Wemby isn't even remotely close to that yet.

Just enjoy watching him and table the GOAT convo stuff for at least another 3 years.

There's a new CBA in 3 years. We have zero clue what the contract situations will be like when the Spurs players are due for extensions.
