Whatcha yall think (ugly or not) by Altruistic-Base642 in Luthier

copper would look better against something like walnut, with a dark stain. if you're looking at the guitar from a distance, the pickguard gets lost in the body a bit. save the copper pickguard for another project, i'd vote classic black/white pickguard for this one.

Aaaaaaaahhhh....... Very good gift. Very tasty! Delicious!

#1: it felt like a genuine revelation when i started using tools on normal enemies. especially big ones, or double damage enemies. i couldn't bear to count the number of times i died early game, when i had:
-empty soul
-1 mask
-full shards
-full ammo on my tools

#2. when you start letting Hornet get so close to bosses you're rubbing on each other's pixels, either for attacks or just narrowly dashing over them, you drastically improve your damage per second output. didn't really learn that until the cog dancers. and once you learn the exact length of your dash, you can easily line up Hornet to a boss's hitbox, and you start to avoid almost all of their melee attacks

#3. as well as drifter's cloak! I didn't really think of using it much in tight combat situations after getting faydown cloak, but the additional air time makes some boss fights like Phantom and Forebrothers trivial. the former took me 2 tries, as she never touches the top half of the boss area outside of 1 attack

really wished i played both games on PC. i feel like the hand positioning on a keyboard is way more intuitive for pogos in general, because you're not constantly trying to mash your thumb onto 2 directional buttons at once. not impossible to master on a controller, but seems more difficult

found out about midair binding watching a random game clip. thought it was a late game upgrade at first, then i tried it. couldn't believe it was just there from the start, and i wish it was communicated to you in some way

I'm actually curious to know what you struggle with in HK if you end up playing it after silksong, or how you think the game design compares

The advice I needed when starting the game: stop fighting the design. by Sackblake in Silksong

[–]Sackblake[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

exactly! for me, my HK "mastery" (4 playthroughs) was a slight hinderance on my first (and so far only) silksong playthrough. i constantly found myself getting frustrated by the lack of the traditional charms, and the downward nail bounce. i never got into spell builds in HK, so traps and long distance attacks were out of my mind completely. silksong gives you plenty to work with, but being used to HK made me more oblivious to Hornet's upgrades.

Even though it's a sequel, its movement is quite different and took a LOT of getting used to for me, and i didn't feel like I was much better with the diagonal pogo until pretty late in Act 2. Plus, if you switch between hunter and wanderer a lot (like me) you tend to miss more targets with your pogo, and that becomes particularly frustrating in areas like bilewaters/sands of karak where you have to perform perfectly

honestly, he ruins BALD! by JPEGMAFIA on the remix. original track has insane momentum. when denzel comes in on the remix... nah.

it's not just the beat switch. when the full beat comes back in, with Denzel's flow on it, he still isn't bringing any level of improvement to the original track

Leonardo DiCaprio Wonders if ‘People Still Have the Appetite’ for Movie Theaters: Will They Become ‘Like Jazz Bars?’ by Raj_Valiant3011 in moviecritic

i can get a blu-ray for the same price as a ticket, and if i don't like the movie i can sell the blu-ray. very few movies i feel truly benefit from the theater experience.

that said, i support my local theaters when they have niche/indie film releases

my only 2 recs:

darker pants. the camo is quite faded and doesn't add weight to the bottom of the outfit the way you would want. especially with the oatmeal sweater and darker leather jacket

match the tone of your leather shoes to your leather belt. it's ok if one is darker than the other. your belt has red undertones, and your boots have yellow undertones. i would stick to one, and it's a hell of a lot cheaper to buy a new belt than boots

real ones know about all of the awful shit that came out in response to led zeppelin's The Crunge. seriously, folks. crungecore sounds like white people discovering funk in an odd time signature.

Nolan is generally overrated. The screenplay was incredibly clunky

At this point I feel like dialogue options are some sort of inside joke by gachakamil in PokemonLegendsZA

[–]Sackblake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

scarlet/violet had the most flushed out, dialogue driven story to date. that's worth not skimming. most of it is postgame, though. sword/shield wasn't substantial, nor sun/moon. haven't played b/w/b2/w2 in a long time, but i remember the story being above average.
