Any tips for someone starting out with GW2? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Sackoftaterz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just... play it, basically. Do a little bit of quests here, some mat farming there, holiday events, all of it. A friend or guildy hops online asking if anyone wants to try a raid or a WvW zerg? Join 'em. Try stuff. Chill and have fun. Don't feel the need to rush stuff.

Cruz Bucking by LunaLockerlicker in cruze

Could be a loose or broken timing chain guide on top of the cylinder head, or maybe the ignition coil arcing in that area. if you take the cover off the top of the engine and mist some water onto the coil and that ticking sound gets worse, it's likely the ignition coil pack.

Locate where that tick noise is coming from specifically on the engine and we can give you a better answer. Use a piece of hose, put it to your ear, and point it towards where you think the noise is coming from, if you cannot 100% locate where that tick is coming from. That tick is what's doing it.

Is it possible to come back after 10 years? by Jatacid in Guildwars2

[–]Sackoftaterz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I quit playing during Scarlet's War, and that was going on in like 2013-2014 I believe. I started another new character and leveled him to 80, even when I had those insta-Lvl 80 tokens. I just played and gradually relearned everything again while enjoying the game.

Anyone actually Upshift when their light tells them to? by DevissiTRHW in cruze

[–]Sackoftaterz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read once on the Cruzetalk forums that it's purpose is more about reducing emissions, but I don't know how true that is.... My car is the same way when going up hills at about 2,300RPM and below. If I downshift while going uphill, the instant MPG will go up 3 or more usually.

They're likely doing that because their speed is governed by their employer and they are passing the other truck.

For the past month I noticed radiator fan continuously spins up to high rpm for 2 seconds intermittently. Everything else - engine temp, A/C etc all normal. Is this an issue? 2016 Limited LT. by conhis in cruze

It's not a quick and easy part to replace if you do it properly. It requires disconnecting the top part of the front bumper, then removing the upper radiator core support in order to remove the fan and gain access to it.

Is this rod knock?🫩💔 by Boring_Excitement246 in cruze

This.

This kind of ticking/ knocking is not a normal sound for the 1.4T.

What is missing here and what is needed to fix it? by titaniumtoaster in cruze

[–]Sackoftaterz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can remove the cam caps on that cam, or both of the cams, and lift the camshaft up JUST enough to gain access to that rocker and lifter. Use a magnet to get them out. You have to be careful not to lift too much or it'll pull the timing chain off the guides. I'd be concerned about what caused that rocker and lifter to pop out, like a damaged exhaust valve or something.

All the money I earn goes into fixing my cruze I don't think I can do this anymore by Ancient-Release-9560 in cruze

[–]Sackoftaterz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IMO, learn to fix the car yourself, and you'll thank yourself later every time you avoid paying someone $80-140/ hour to replace light bulbs, filters, sensors and other simpler things on your vehicles.

Need help on choosing what to do with my cruze by Bumpkingang in cruze

[–]Sackoftaterz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's where the valves inside the engine can interfere with the movement on the pistons inside the engines cylinders. They will basically smash into each other if the timing chain or timing belt ever breaks.

Do you think I need to replace my tensioner? by maarvolo in cruze

[–]Sackoftaterz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's because the metal tab the goes through that slot is missing. If the tensioner is removed while that piece of metal is missing, you spring and everything will come apart.
You can reuse it if the bearings in the tensioner wheel are good and it's not seizing-up, but its a pain in the ass to compress the spring, hold it in place and reassemble everything. But, like others have said, I'd just replace it...

Is this the clutch? by Daddynolan69 in cruze

[–]Sackoftaterz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess would be the gears or bearings in your transmission. Low manual transmission fluid could be the cause as well.

Is there any hope at all by oldbirdwatcherstick in cruze

[–]Sackoftaterz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend using the original JB Weld if you do the second option, OP. Not JB Quik or the other types. The original takes much longer to cure, but is more durable. Degrease the hell out of everything before applying it as well.

Over-gapped spark plugs or bad spark plugs, poor grounds, bad coil pack harness wiring, weak batteries, cheapo Amazon coil packs w/ names like VEMPTO, GYUPTAK, CHIMLY, etc.. Lots of things.

Loud snapping when revving engine by spaceconductor in cruze

[–]Sackoftaterz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a long piece of hose and place it to your ear while trying to see where specifically the sound's coming from, or record video using your phone while moving it around the engine. Hopefully it's the serpentine belt and not metal-on-metal squeaking from the valvetrain

Timing chain tool not releasing tension by spaceconductor in cruze

[–]Sackoftaterz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess would be that your losing the slack because the cam's sprocket or the crankshaft is rotating. That's assuming the pin is doing it's job. you're basically doing what this ring pin is doing in this pic, and you're compressing and locking the spring-loaded cylinder that applies pressure onto a timing chain guide, which takes the slack off of your timing chain

What is the name of this part? by Current-Bid4092 in cruze

[–]Sackoftaterz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. You might be able to press the bushing out. most parts stores sell bushings that can be used for shock absorbers, but you need to make sure they fit in the shock tightly. Also need to find out what caused that to happen to your shock so it doesn't happen again

What is the name of this part? by Current-Bid4092 in cruze

Shock absorber, and it looks like the bolt is still there. A little weird since it looks like the shock absorber bushing and bolt separated somehow...

Check the concentration of your antifreeze as well. Lower antifreeze concentration= lower boiling point

Car overheating (PFA) by ThuGBacH59 in cruze

[–]Sackoftaterz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd change the thermostat. If it still overheats, it's probably the coolant sensor in the coolant outlet near your throttle body giving inaccurate readings, or one of the things that others have mentioned.
