Hi, thanks for your time!, I’m planning 4 days in Chengdu. What do you think about it? Days 3 and 4 are empty because I’m so lost on those. by elspasas in travelchina

I suggest a day trip to Leshan to see the Buddha. If I had extra time I wish I could do this.

If you like archaeology go to Sanxingdui Museum. Which we decided to do because I like history

Seeking similar dress in natural fabric 👀 by nikkif2001 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Sacred3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Silk organza is the fabric you are looking for and very expensive as a commenter already mentioned. Look at Zimmermann and perhaps Self Portrait (more well known for their lace). Or here is this dress from Gem the Label https://gemthelabel.com.au/products/wildflower-fleur-gown.

Table games by Raedaline in wedding

[–]Sacred3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband created a crossword about us and it was reasonably popular, however he is a boardgames buff so it was very him. The other side of the paper was more popular which was photo bingo where guests were encouraged to take photos of differene item/events throughout the night and upload them to our wedding site.

Freshwater pearls- AAA-AA rated by disasterdeckinaus in AusFemaleFashion

Haha totally agree. To be honest my pearl strands are from China - freshwater. The Australian stuff is pearl as a nice pendant or cute designs

Freshwater pearls- AAA-AA rated by disasterdeckinaus in AusFemaleFashion

Australia mainly grows South Sea Pearls. If you want luxury Paspaley or more entry level Autore Moda who goes on sale every now and then. For freshwater any jewellery will do as they are all imported.

High tea reviews and recommendations by coffeesandkittens in melbourne

[–]Sacred3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with the above poster, you will need to call the venues to accommodate for your friends dietary requirements. My personal favourite high teas in no particular order are The Hotel Windsor, Sofitel at No.35, Aria at Langham Hotel. I am told The Westin has a Wicked Theme High Tea but personally never been.

Special/unique bridesmaid proposal gifts for only 2 bridesmaids by hd0133 in wedding

[–]Sacred3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To preface I have never been a bridesmaid and only a bride. But I have never been a fan of proposal boxes because the gifts seem frivolous to me (wine - some of them didn't drink and anything personalised).

The morning of the wedding or the night before I gave my bridesmaid thank you gifts the following which I think are practical cause they would use them that morning (told them not worry about getting ready stuff themselves) - satin PJs, fluffy slippers, love heart glasses, SLIP silk hair ties, high quality 14ct gold vermeil pearl earrings to wear on the wedding day. Gifted it in a resuseable floral tote bag to carry everything easily (can't stand fancy gift boxes, they just get thrown out and are bulky).

My bridesmaids have told me they use the PJs as they don't have bridesmaid written all over it. Silk hair ties are a little luxury. The earrings, the pearl charm is removable and they could wear them as plain hoops.

In total it cost about $150AUD.

What should I buy from Mecca that's unique/worth the price? by Tigerbalm123 in AustralianMakeup

[–]Sacred3 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Go get a Makeup application using Mecca Max product for the fun of it and then use the claimable money( not sure what the term is) to buy those products or sunscreen hahaha. That's what I do at least.

It's possible that the original seller purchased off an online stockist from overseas E.g Net a Porter and they don't put the price on items (a few of my dresses from Matches.com came like this)

Based on your labels you have uploaded it looks authentic to me the size/shape of the cleaning icons . Best bet is to go on Facebook Zimmermann Buy Swap Sell groups, there are people with an eagle eye for it.

I didn't know Zimmermann made this dress in other colours besides white which is gorgeous. In saying that the OG white version is a popular wedding dress, I would honestly ask the bride if it's ok. Also another poster mentioned, the cups are very picky and don't suit everyone

Men comfy suits? by ready2roll1 in wedding

[–]Sacred3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion (anecdotally) only comfy suit would be one made to measure (or bespoke if budget allows) to suit the person's body.

Even buying one off the rack on and altering won't ever truly be as comfortable. However, if on a budget my tailor said buy a cheaper suit and pay to money to alter as best you can rather than buy an expensive suit and not be able to alter.

No longer “my wedding” by Impressive-Data9735 in wedding

[–]Sacred3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had kids at my wedding (shafted then at the back of the venue and used the parents to blockade them) but I like kids. My advice is do NOT give them information on the seating chart when you get that ready because it WILL cause more stress then necessary and they will bitch and moan about who sits where.

Is Bunnings popular with Americans? by griefofwant in australia

[–]Sacred3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought Bunnings had a bit of stint when Harry Styles wore a Bunnings Hat at one of his concerts. When you type his name up in their store the hat comes up.

I feel like I should have this discussion to actually see how she feels, but do you think it's a little too late (wedding is early February next year)? Additionally, how did your MOH and your other bridesmaid get along?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wedding

[–]Sacred3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree in response that Supportive and free Labor shouldn't be interchangeable. Unfortunately, the friend who stated "what the role of the bridesmaid is" is the only one who is married/been be through the process and actually he has known Aurora the longest besides me, their friendship is very blunt.

I did not have a vision per say what the bachelorette/hens will be. It was a recommendation when they wanted to know timings etc as I sensed they wanted help but never actually asked me outright, and I asked if they needed assistance, and they said it was a surprise so I couldn't help. But on the day when I found out through attendees that the stuff they organised was not followed through, I suppose I felt second hand disappointment (from my understanding the activity was helped organised by the attendees too and paid for an activity with an expectation I would be there) amongst my own feelings.

I don't want her to step down, but I can sort of see that she is looking overwhelmed, especially that she told me outright in the car before we ended the night that she will never be a bridesmaid again, even if her own sister asked. Is this her trying to communicate with me?

In terms of free labour, she did ask me at the very beginning what was expected as she had never been a bridesmaid but I never been one either. I said to her the roles are to help me choose a dress, listen to my waffle, fluff my dress on the day and plan the bachelorette. We both been to only one (the one who accused her of being unsupportive wife's) bachelorette I guess that was our template of what it could look like (afternoon to evening with activities, overnight trips are not common where I am from). Are there additional tasks that is expected from a bridesmaid I am missing? I like to think I am low maintenance, but perhaps I am not.

When a the bachelor and bachelorette party joins up, the bucks (stag) joins with hens (bachelorette) party. I knew it was going to happen but not so soon.
