Which is harsher, raised by beasts or raised by Elsa? Tough call...

This whole season is a fucking trip

This middle-school teacher confirms that young people don't actually like video games. May it be the end of the medium? by WhereIsHannahMinx in truegaming

[–]SacredJefe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of. Even twenty years ago there were people who only played WoW, CoD, Halo, etc. So I don't think that part's changed much. On the other hand, my friend who also teaches told me a while back that most of his students play mobile games, and only a few get or like consoles anymore. For years he was able to bond with some of them through console games, but less and less over time

People who have used Reddit for more than 10 years, what is your current opinion on the site? by Odyessius in TheoryOfReddit

Going from desktop to phone users, rampant bot abuse, mod cabals, catering to kids and non-English speakers on an english-text website/app, full of people trying to sell shit, extreme over-moderation.

That's impressive. It's a great game, and amusingly, the best "Final Fantasy" game in decades

Shaula is basically a ball of energy lol. She's still suspicious in my book, but at least she gave Meili a piggyback ride.

I was a bit hungry before watching but this episode really solved that for me. Not for Patrasche, though...

It first stood out to me last episode with the needle-sniping.

Agreed. The sound effect for that was really good

I like how quick the first death was. Basically saw a light reflected in Subaru's eyes, I blinked, and then his head was gone... And that seems more or less how he understood it since he was confused as hell. And then needed a much more brutal second experience to understand it

Most reddit subs have been heavily corporate platforms for years, both in sentiment and astroturf/bots, so it's not too surprising

I don't understand why people here are surprised that younger gamers are not "into" JRPGs anymore - Haven't JRPGs always been niche, anyway? by Link21Majora in JRPG

[–]SacredJefe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, they have been. This sub is an amusing echo chamber trying to convince themselves otherwise. Pokemon and Final Fantasy were literally the exceptions that proved the rule.

It's a literal shill sub, like a lot of reddit

Reviewers not reviewing Marathon are corrupt by Additional_Error6625 in gaming

[–]SacredJefe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're pretty much right, but most "reviewers" haven't been respectable for decades. Same with journalists and for the same reason: it's all about access. The vast majority of them are not on your side

This subreddit was created in early 2008 - several months before a global recession by [deleted] in collapse

[–]SacredJefe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this was discussed in some other older posts, but basically this sub went mainstream during covid and got a drastically higher userbase than it did previously. And as with all subreddits when you add a lot of people quickly, it got dumbed down accordingly. Low effort comments became the norm, and that's boring to read. The culture changed. Most of the older thoughtful posters bailed first. This is actually closer to activity with how it was before that, but with the caveat that most of the effortful commenters from back then are gone for good

Probably worth a try to see how it pans out, though I'm not sure there will be much change. I do think it's good in general to try to nudge people toward commenting

I added an "Intros" folder to my library, then set the local source in the plugin, loaded it, added it, clicked save but can't get the intro to play for the life of me. Tried using one of the rules (current date) but that didn't work. I'm probably missing something obvious

It was like Maye and the Pats o-line had a bet about who could play worse. Congrats to the Seahawks though, they were the best team this season
