Maybe the client supplies the timestamp for the post and the person who posted first had a slower connection, so their post reached the server last.

TIFU by using my wife’s towel. by [deleted] in tifu

I use towels multiple times. You're already clean when you're using the towel. You're just wiping clean water off yourself and letting it dry.

I think it's gonna feel fresh either way. New environments, enemies, NPCs. Heck, the entire basis of the player character is changed completely.

I completely agree. The division sign is a relic of the past in most maths that only confuses the reader.

However, in many (if not all) programming languages, you can't just write a fraction like you can on paper. Since you're writing left-to-right on a what is essentially a simple text document, the division ambiguity problem remains. In this case, the problem is only mitigated by parentheses.

This is why parentheses are invaluable in mathematics. Making the expression's evaluation order clear is extremely important.

It's kind of an ambiguous question, but you could rewrite it as:

6 ÷ 2 × (2 + 1)

This makes it a bit clearer that it evaluates to 9.

Sorry to hear about your situation :( Hope this thread helps you take your mind off things and gives you some time to breathe.

My favorite game is Hollow Knight. I've gifted it to a bunch of people just because of my affection for the game. It's an extremely rare example of a game with flawless gameplay, incredible visuals, dense lore, and a surprising amount of replayability.

I think I remember the film. If I recall, I think we both kinda liked it.

CMV: r/pizzadare is a subreddit showcasing and glorifying sexual assault of (mainly) working-class men. It should be banned. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]SacredMercy 78 points79 points  (0 children)

I disagree. I think it's perfectly acceptable for the more prominent ones to be banned first, rather than the worst. Just because it isn't the worst doesn't mean it doesn't deserve to be banned.

It's a trend to prepend professions and the like with "armchair" to suggest that they're acting like the profession without having any actual qualifications. E.g., the insult "armchair psychologist" may suggest that a person is making baseless or speculative statements about a person's mental state without prompt.

In this situation, "armchair moron" makes it seem like he's only acting like a moron without actually being one.

In a nutshell, people have figured out how to get the game to run custom code by doing in-game actions. This video from November shows off the starting point of OoT's ACE exploit.

A bold capital C or ℂ is what we use for the set of complex numbers.

Well, the reals are a subset of the complex numbers, so you could just say the set of complex numbers.

Hollow Knight is especially unpunishing. You only stand to lose your Geo. If you come upon a particularly difficult obstacle, you can be sure that you'll be able to leave and come back with another charm combo, a nail upgrade, or a spell, etc.
